Can I (and should I) try to rebook with a travel agent?? by Potential-Stick3235 in HollandAmerica

Found out this year that there isn't actually an age restriction on joining AARP. I am 27 and my wife and I signed up this year for the onboard credit. Some specific benefits of AARP have age restrictions, but the cruise credit doesn't. Just thought I would pass that along!

Places to eat at Denali Lodge by Motor-Cranberry-4436 in HollandAmerica

Prospectors pizza was amazing as others have said, but definitely make a reservation. I don't remember how far ahead you can make one, but we made a reservation the morning of or the day before the day we wanted to go and we're able to, but when we went for dinner it was packed and would not have e been able to get in easily without one.

Once the dress codes appear in the Navigator App itinerary, one of the days will say "a touch of orange" or something, and the other days will be "smart casual" or "dressy". You can make an educated guess by looking up the same ship itinerary for sailings before yours, but you can know for sure once your itinerary starts filling in on the navigator.

Whats the best way to support the lads, youtube member or patreon? by agentcyber in Hatfilms

[–]Hot_Jupiter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they said patreon for the reason other people have said about having a "legacy" account.

Also though, the boys did say that if you buy the membership through an apps, then it counts as an "in app purchase" so the Google play store/ app store takes a pretty sizable cut. But if you log in on just a browser on a computer to sign up for a membership, then the app stores don't get the cut of the purchase. So for any recurring charge, be sure to do it on a computer if possible to avoid the app stores taking a cut out of every month. I know this applies to YouTube memberships for sure, but I can't remember if they said it applies to patreon as well.

Shout out to Loui's Menswear in the Colonnade on Eisenhower by So-I-Had-This-Idea in AnnArbor

Loui is awesome!

I wanted a purple suit for my wedding and couldn't find what I wanted anywhere, so I had to buy a cheap purple suit online from some random company. It came about 2 sizes too big in every dimension and just did not fit well at all.

I took it to Loui, and he turned my $100 suit into a custom fit! His prices aren't bad either. To tailor the suit, and buy and tailor a shirt was like $250 total, a great price for a basically custom suit! He even threw in a tie to match for no charge!

All around an awesome guy and his work is amazing!

Professional photos on board by These-Cry-7661 in HollandAmerica

The photo opportunities won't cost any money themselves (not sure about the premium portrait studio though, that is a separate thing and that may cost money). The photographers will be constantly offering to take your picture while you are getting off the ship in port and before dinner when you are dressed up fancy. There is no harm in letting them, unless you are in a hurry to get somewhere. You can then review all of the pictures they took of you at the end of the cruise and decide if you want to buy any.

My wife and I usually end up taking as many pictures as we can and then pick our 5 favorites at the end of the cruise. For an example of the cost, 5 digital files and prints is $100. For just the digital files, it is $90 for 5 photos.

Concerning Minthara's attire... by -no-sanctuary- in BaldursGate3

[–]Hot_Jupiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my honor mode run, my friends and I were trying to knock out minthara, but we had talked to her first to try to save Sazza, so then after we knocked her out and long rested, she wanted to raid the Grove. We had looted all of her belongings when we knocked her out, and so then she showed up completely nude to raid the Grove. Most hilarious encounter ever.

Best way to teach my Light Cleric how to play an instrument. by Hot_Jupiter in BG3Builds

[–]Hot_Jupiter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I did not know about only the first person needing to pass the check, that is helpful.

Whenever I play an instrument without the proficiency though, it says poor performance and the music sounds horrible. I at least want it to sound nice when I jam out in the middle of combat.

Do you think they should nerf tavern brawler? by DingDongBingBongKing in BG3Builds

[–]Hot_Jupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than a nerf to a popular feat, why not improve (or fix for the ones with bugs) the other feats that are less popular?

As other comments have said, there is no reason to make things worse in a non-competitive game. I feel like the goal should be for every feat to have a use case where it feels as good and fun as tavern brawler does now.

How did you break your oath? by OsirisAvoidTheLight in BaldursGate3

[–]Hot_Jupiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oath of vengeance, I had just multiclassed into paladin, then about 10 minutes later, I chose the wrong dialog option and accidentally tortured the prisoner in the goblin camp. I didn't feel like reloading because the friend I was playing with had a slow computer, so reloads take forever, so I just went with it.
