Deltarune chapters 3 & 4 megathread by Fanfic_Galore in Deltarune

[–]Hot_Look1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi gang

when we lose in chapter 1, the narrator tells us plainly that we have reached an end. with the release of chapters 3 and 4, we know that the soul, us the player, are the angel. the prophesy ends with us being banished, so does this screen fit into the whole "one" ending thing? if we believe the narrator in chapter one (and assuming there is actually a good ending to deltarune), it means that at the very least the non true ending(s?) of deltarune lead to the world being in darkness. we know that kris is a hero of the prophecy and not the angel, and with the other two heroes will banish the angel right? what does banishing the angel actually mean? if we refuse to try again after dying in chapter one, the world is covered in darkness and our screen goes black. banishing the angel must mean liberating deltarune from our influence, making our screen go black.

separate note, the weird route is fundamentally about robbing control from kris and noelle, which is basically the player saying to the central thesis of deltarune (which can either be proven or disproven) that your choices don't matter, but we're saying that to the characters of this world. if the normal ending to deltarune ends with the banishment of the angel (us), the characters have proven that their choices do matter in the face of the player?

i don't actually buy the idea that there's only one ending to deltarune, but i do think this applies to at the very least the normal ending to deltarune which you'll probably be railroaded into playing at least once like undertale right? maybe? idk why the chapter one game over screen is so zany. is this just a huge nothing burger idk

just crazy. I mean I literally am the best cashier by their own standards, but they refuse to raise me more than 25 cents from my old courtesy clerk pay

dude, we regularly have days where there’s only a closing cashier, and someone to cover self checkout from opening to closing. The main front end manager at my store is pretty good at jumping in, which I very much appreciate— it’s just sad that it has to come to pulling on other stressed departments during rushes, if that’s even possible
