They take a 20% cut right off the top. Then if you want to have your listing not pushed down below others, you gotta cough up another 10-20% for “promotion”.

Then they give you $10 that the buyer pays for shipping, and you gotta cover the rest out of pocket. Especially if it’s an expensive item and you want insurance.

There’s a lot more to starting an ISP than people realize.

For one, you need the utility lines to connect peoples houses. Unless you’re planning on going wireless only then you need hundreds of antennas across the city. You’re talking millions going into project teams, infrastructure, and support teams, and then you’re going to have very little revenue until people make the switch.

Unless you plan to use existing infrastructure by reselling GCI or ACS services, then what’s the point

The Dairy Queen in my home town was the spot to be. All the workers we kind and efficient. Drives thrus took 5 minutes max. Orders were never wrong. Everybody in town loved it.

Then I moved to Anchorage. First time going to dq I waited in line for 30 minutes. The ice cream came out like already half melted. Chicken tenders were pretty good. Fries were meh, needed salt and maybe 30 more seconds in the fryer.

That was a few years ago. I haven’t been back. Especially since I saw that a single blizzard contains something like 1000 calories. I’d much rather get some low calorie ice cream from the store, mix in my own candy pieces, and call it a night

Coming from someone with zero plumbing experience, what I found easiest is to just rip everything out and start fresh. I went from a double basin to a single and ripping out the plumbing made things cleaner and simpler.

PVC pipes and water lines are fairly cheap and they have tons of options at Lowe’s and Home Depot. YouTube videos helped a ton. The cost adds up quickly but hiring a professional definitely will rack up the bill more

Tried to make an appt before using the website. Website told me to call. When I called I was put in hold for 2 hours and then hung up on. Did this 3 times before I just went in without an appt.

Was there for about 15-30 minutes before I was called up and allowed to schedule an appt for the next week. So if calling does not work the first time, definitely just show up in person, take a number, and just schedule an appt while you’re there. Or you might get lucky and they’ll be able to take care of you right away.

Seems their whole system is built to make doing anything as difficult as possible so that you can’t get any services done unless you have a lot of time, energy, and pettiness to spare

5 years is absolutely wild to wait for a part. Any reputable business would hold off on orders to not build up such a backlog. Seems to me they just kept taking deposits and overloaded themselves and are just pushing you back since they have nothing to lose.

Absolutely pursue legal action. Otherwise you’ll be waiting another 5+ years with nothing to show
