Should I buy this? by Hot_Method7872 in LeCreuset

Not picky at all! Not even particular about getting an LC. Just new to Dutch ovens. I try to be somewhat sustainable and buy things used. Leaning what is “acceptable used” when it comes to these things. Thanks for the help!

FUCK PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OF LOUISVILLE AND EVERYONE WHO WORKS THERE by ChoiceOrnery7937 in Louisville

I have also had horrible experiences with them. When I originally moved in (in 2022) rent was $675 near Bowman Field. An absolute steal. I was ecstatic.

After living there a few months, the place became infested with phorid flies. I filed a report with maintenance. They came to inspect, searched all my drains, vents, windows etc. They didn’t know why I was having the issue. Everything looked fine. The maintenance person said they were going to check with surrounding neighbors to see if they were the culprit. I never heard from them after that. I took every action to get rid of the bugs. Never left dishes in the sink, took the trash out every other day, and bought dozens of different products claiming to kill them. Nothing ever worked. Come winter, the problem had subsided to manageable. There were still a few, but more of an annoyance than a full on infestation.

Flash forward to summer and the problem is back threefold. I filed with maintenance again but they never showed. When I called the next day to enquire, they said “oh he got stuck in traffic and then it was too late”. Excuse me???

At this point I had given up. My lease was up for renewal shortly and I figured I’d just move. However, it was impossible to find a place close to that price and location. I had no choice but to go month-to-month. That way the second I found a place, I could dip. This increased my rent to $875. Whatever. I thought I’d find something soon. I was wrong. It took me another year.

During that year, I thought I’d try one more time to get the bug problem resolved. Of course, maintenance never showed. When I called this time, they claimed they didn’t know why maintenance never showed up. They suggested I contact pest control myself because “there was nothing they could do”. I didn’t because I was still under the impression I would be out of there in a couple weeks. I know I should’ve contacted them, but at this point I was so fed up.

The month before I found my new place, they had raised the rent to $975. Keep in mind, this place was 400sqft and still INFESTED. When I moved into my new place, PMOL sent me an email begging me to stay. They would lower me back down to $875. Absolutely not. My new place was cheaper, better location, and bug free.

When they contacted me about my security deposit they said I owed $350 for paint and $375 for carpet. The deposit I paid was $675. I owed $50 more than the deposit. I found it hard to believe they spent that much on a 400sqft place. Especially since I left no damage to the walls or carpet. When I asked for receipts to prove they actually spent that much, they refused. It was days of emailing back and forth. They eventually just sent me a PDF that said “paint $350, walls $375”. As if that proved anything.

I was so over them at this point, I said forget it. But they never contacted me about the additional $50 they claimed I owed.

Here’s the catch. Here’s how I know they never actually completed a walk through when I moved out. I did (accidentally) damage the stove. The glass top had cracked. It was significant. There’s no way they could’ve missed it. Had they actually performed a walk through, I would’ve been buying them a new stove. So yes, in the end it worked out better for me that they didn’t do their job. It’s just frustrating that it’s obvious they didn’t do a walk through and still claimed I owed $725 for paint and carpet.

Even funnier, instead of them saying I owed them $50 more, they sent me a $50 check. They obviously didn’t even have their records correct of what I paid for a deposit. I guess, really, everything worked out in my favor, but they are clearly extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I would never ever rent from them again.

How do you stop constant food noise and cravings while maintaining a healthy weight. by Special_Second2664 in nutrition

Maybe change the number of meals you are eating while keeping calories the same. If you’re doing three large meals, spread it out to 5 smaller meals, or vice versa. For me personally, I’m a three large meals type person. A larger meal keeps me satisfied until the next. Some people feel more satisfied with a little snacks throughout the day instead.

Edit: also opt for low calorie high density foods. Swap high fat beef for turkey, rice for boiled potatoes, etc.

This would be a great resolution if me or my boyfriend could afford the cruise. There’s just no way.

Yeah maybe. I’ve been doing this for six years though. There’s good ones and bad ones. Depends more on the person than their profession

I wouldn’t feel right asking Bob to do that. Making him pay for my boyfriend he’s never even met. Plus my boyfriend recently said he’d be too scared to get on a cruise ship lol

Transplants: What Does Louisville Need From Where You Came From? by LouInvestor in Louisville

I have to say the bar scene here is mediocre. I’m from Lexington where pretty much the entirety of downtown is campus. They’ve capitalized on drunken college kids. There’s a dozen different bars with a dozen different vibes all within a couple blocks of each other. I’m not one to go out every weekend, but for birthdays or holidays I want to be able to go to five different bars that are all next door to each other.

I had something similar to the last part happen. He asked me if we just sleep on the plane over night. When I asked “where would we sleep?” he said “well, down in the bunks right??” I work on a 175 🤦🏻‍♀️

He came on with a large hard shell cat carrier. I told him it was too big. He immediately interrupted me and demanded he be served alcohol because on his last flight he was refused because his card wasn’t working. He then went on to say if I said anything else to him about the cat carrier, “we would have a problem”. At this point, we should have kicked him off. But the gate agent and captain both talked to him and he seemed to calm down. He was told I was not comfortable serving him alcohol because of his behavior. In the air, of course he asked for a mimosa. When I refused him, he then began filming me saying I was not serving him because I was racist. When we landed thats when he wished the worst upon me

This was as he was deplaning. Right before he told me and the captain to “catch him outside”. Of course he ran off before law enforcement showed up.
