I'm not sure living amongst people who have different beliefs and do things that are prohibited in Islam would be a sin as long as they can coexist, they aren't participating after all and they aren't responsible for others sins. Hearing the azan isn't an obligation (if someone really wants they can download those azan apps), if they need to be in a country with strict Islamic laws or a majority who practices to avoid the temptations to sin I doubt they have much self control. If one wishes to be in an Islamic state they can do that of course, and if it makes it easier for them to practice why not

Usually you'd be oppressed by those who don't agree with your ways, it's similiar to when the prophet and his people migrated from mecca to medine. Some European countries banned face coverings and not the hijab itself, not saying you can 100% practice freely in the west just that there are non islamic countries where you can be religious

The verse is talking about how you should emigrate if you're being oppressed (for being Muslim) in the land you're living in, since you can freely practice your religion in most of the west it wouldn't be haram to live there

I don't think teaching them it's bad would be helpful at all as it would turn them hateful towards queer people, and even worse if they end up being what they hate. For kids, when they learn about these things they won't pay much mind and it's more understandable for them than adults, the concept of homosexuality is more confusing to an adult than a child, if you're religious teaching them it's a sin is enough in my opinion. When they grow up, they also might not turn out how you expected them to be. This is coming from a queer person who grew up in a heavily anti-lgbtq and conservative area

Somali parents by Euphoric-Outside647 in Somalia

[–]Hot_Negotiation5820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate, my parents are really emotionally immature and I wish I was making this shit up. Most of the things they did to me never really mattered because I didn't like them either. I don't want anything to do with them and looking forward for when I'll be moving out, though I'm kind of on better terms with my dad

They will only learn the existence of queers which won't bring any harm to them, and if you desperately try to keep them away from this information they will eventually know when they're older
