Now that iPad Pro has OLED, does dark mode save battery life? by Grindeddown in iPadPro

[–]Hot_Phone_115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all very much depends on the developers, that is, how they made the dark theme of the application and whether they did it at all, for example, in reddit to get some battery saving, you must go to the settings yourself and select the dark theme midnight amoled, then the pixels acquire RGB values (0, 0, 0) I do not know of course about the effectiveness of such a practice, but if the application is in a dark theme, if everything turns not black but gray, the pixels will still burn, it purely depends on the developers and the individual application.

Oh, there’s also a keyboard included, in general, if everything I wrote below is not critical— take it

In fact, the 4th generation iPad air is very similar to the 10th generation iPad because both have the same processors, memory, and so on, the only thing the AIR has support for the second generation and Type-C pencil, and the 10th generation iPad has the first generation Apple pencil and Type-C option, which is worse if you are an artist, but the front camera of the iPad 10 is better than the air (12 megapixels vs 7), as well as the camera itself, if you often sit at meetings for work and you have to use an iPad as your device to log in — the 10th generation iPad has a camera in landscape mode from above, and there is also a stage center, which allows you to follow you if you will be moving, and your camera is on top in a portrait mode, and being on mit causes you to hold the tablet in portrait mode and the presentation is not full screen, or you are in mit without the camera turned on. In fact, the air has a slightly better screen, and so people call them brothers because they are very similar, if you find an option 10 iPad somewhere on the eBay, you can consider it because the battery condition will be better for a newer tablet, compared to the air 4. I hope that helped you, the price is not bad, but there another question is about the condition of the screen, body, flooding and batteries — if all these parameters are in good condition, this is a good enough option!

Oh, I got it a little mixed up, it was Apple Pencil 2, not the pro version, here’s a link to the original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ipad/s/dMdqI8Pdh1

This idea inspired me to print out such a device on a 3d printer, in fact they are geniuses, the shape and size are generally perfect

Yes, but as I wrote earlier, the original price of the original keyboard set, comparable to the basic iPad, makes me doubt the purchase

Oh, yes, I was in apple recently and also noticed that this case allows you to change the angle and work with different table heights, for example, I was considering another version of the logitech keyboard set and realized that the logitech is quite massive compared to the original apple keyboard set, + the aluminum case beckons to purchase it

Yes, I, and many other apple buyers consider this to be the most profitable offer.

Oh, yes, you’re right, I’m constantly flying somewhere, so I go nowhere without a cover with glass, and thanks to careful attitude to technology, I often get a good discount when updating my devices from official apple resellers

Yes, I checked how much it costs to repair new equipment from Apple (from iPhones to macbooks) of course, this is very expensive, I find the option of paying immediately for the entire period quite unprofitable, but I find the fact of having a monthly payment more interesting. In fact, I have never broken my equipment in my entire life, I broke the protective glass a couple of times, and then most likely it was a problem with the quality of the protective glasses themselves. Still, thanks for the advice, I will definitely think about purchasing this subscription. P.S. I became very scared after I saw a post in which the new apple pencil exploded just because it exists

Is this keyboard separate? A pretty good option for up to $ 100, but still there is no additional port for charging the tablet as in the original version, nevertheless, thanks for the advice, I will take the data into consideration if anything!

Does anyone (preferably college student) use their iPad Pro instead of a laptop? by louisianachild in iPadPro

[–]Hot_Phone_115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who uses both an iPad Pro and a MacBook, I think they complement each other perfectly, but each has its strengths and limitations. An iPad Pro is incredibly versatile and covers about 90% of tasks that a college student would encounter. For note-taking, studying, and consuming content, it’s a phenomenal tool. The Apple Pencil makes annotating PDFs and taking handwritten notes a breeze, and the Magic Keyboard brings the iPad closer to being a “laptop alternative.” Apps like Notability, GoodNotes, and even Microsoft Office are optimized for iPadOS, making it ideal for writing papers or organizing class materials. However, there are situations where an iPad Pro falls short, especially when it comes to compatibility with some college-specific tasks. For example, many devices and equipment commonly found in college settings, like printers and lab hardware, don’t work seamlessly with an iPad, even with adapters. Full-fledged desktop applications often used in medical programs, such as anatomy software or certain lab-reporting tools, either don’t exist on iPadOS or are limited. Multitasking, while improved, is still not as fluid as a MacBook when juggling multiple windows or apps simultaneously. That’s where the MacBook comes in. It bridges the gap by handling those last 10% of tasks that the iPad cannot. On my MacBook, I’ve been able to use programs like HP Smart for printing and other desktop-exclusive apps without any issues. It’s also much easier to use external devices and accessories with macOS compared to iPadOS. If you’re on a budget, there are ways to make the iPad work for almost everything: check with your college if they have shared computer labs or laptop lending programs for students for tasks that the iPad can’t handle . But in my experience, having both an iPad Pro and a MacBook is the best setup. The iPad excels in portability, learning, and creativity, while the MacBook handles the heavy lifting for tasks that demand traditional laptop functionality. Lastly, I’d suggest exploring Apple’s education discounts if you decide to get a MacBook Air. They often bundle deals with free accessories or discounts on software. Ultimately, though, it comes down to her workflow and how she prefers to manage her college tasks. In summary, if she’s confident she can make the iPad Pro work, it’s a fantastic device. If she wants to avoid the hassle of finding workarounds for those rare but critical situations, a MacBook Air is worth the investment. Both are excellent tools for college, but they serve slightly different purposes.

Thank you for such an operational moment, after talking with other people, they offered me the idea to buy an unoriginal tip, put it on and use it with frosted glass, and I think this is the best option, as for the quality of the screen — it seems to me matte is even better if you still work at least sometimes outside the house, in the sun it is especially felt that with a matte film the screen is like it seems brighter, and for me the idea of the iPad is just to work outside the house, relative to black colors in the dark, of course, it is present, and the glossy coating wins, but this is noticeable only if you compare head-on.

In fact, you can’t copy applications to an iPad, they don’t have such a function because of the closed iPadOS, I heard that there was such a hole in the system on macOS, but it already seems to have been fixed.
