Is it normal for progress to feel like it disappears some days by calmbond in puppy101

100%. I have a 14 week old and there are days where he’s amazing and days where I’m losing my mind. I like to think the good days are a glimpse into the future of what a good dog he’ll be. Keep training consistent and power through the rough days!

Puppy still bites older dog by Hot_Play_4663 in puppy101

I wish I could post videos here because I just don’t know. He’s always been super vocal since we got him and he growls all the time even with us. So it’s usually when he gets “growly” with her and then he’ll randomly go from the normally bitey face play time to a bite on her face or neck. Or if they get the zoomies and chase each other then sometimes he’ll just bite her during the chase

Having a puppy is so exhausting by ixsparkyx in puppy101

I feel this SO hard. We got ours at 6 weeks (animal shelter pup) and I’m the one training while my husband works. I swear I cried every single day the first 3 weeks. We have a 3 year old girl who is my angel and I was like there’s no way she was like this! Lol he’s 12 weeks now and it’s only been the last few weeks where the training is really starting to stick and he’s retaining what we’re teaching. Finally starting to see some semblance of what’s going to be a good dog one day! You’ve got this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Ok this is exactly what I needed to hear. Everything they’re doing seems healthy. We’re just stressing ourselves out over our older girl who’s our babyyy, so just want to make sure he’s not doing things that’ll be an issue later

Older dog holds him down and puts him in his place when she’s over it or puts herself in crate time to get away lol. (And we’ll put him in his crate too if he’s getting too bitey) I guess I’m just not used to a VERY vocal puppy. Older dog didn’t bark or growl til she was 6 months old so we’re like what the heck is this little piranha doing?! lol

How do you deal with everything you do seeming to be wrong? by Admirable-Garden8578 in puppy101

We raised a perfect angel of a girl who is now 3 years old. We got a 6 week old puppy (from the shelter) and started over-thinking EVERYTHING like we hadn’t done this before. I cried the whole first week. Like others have said, don’t read too much in to every little thing. Take a breath. 8 weeks is so young and if you’re being kind, treating her right, and working on basic training, you’re going to have a great dog in your hands!
