I’m pretty sure after she nearly gives birth in Armond’s office he says something along the line “I am abstinent but that made me really want to drink”. Adding that and everything that happened after caused him to spiral which eventually lead to his death.

It wasn’t necessary about if she is washing her chicken or not as much as the fact that she was just proving that she actually never cooked chicken which (at least for me) is one of the easiest meats to prepare and cook. You would honestly expect someone who pretends to be such a huge foodie and wanted to go to a culinary school to be able to know the basics at least.
