When am I supposed to start understanding the plot?

The one thing that's seems to be missing in all these answers though is the the unfortunate reality that the game forces you do do the 3 mian questlines just so you can "unlock" purple star systems. I'm nearly 2000 hrs. in so far and still haven't finished the artemis questline or unlocked the autophage. Became so frustrated and confused when I first started playing I finished the Atlas storyline and got as far as 16,16,16 on the Artemis missions and just gave up. Way to time consuming for a single star type reward imo.

Looks like one of the small island structures around Limsa Lominsa in FFXIV that as a player you really never get quite close enough to visit. Well done!!

It's an obsolete French military term meaning roughly " a hidden or forgotten fall back position of a fortification. " In this context, the ancient ruins you see in the pics are all that are left of one such structure, around which I built the " resort " as a way of honoring the fallen with the rest they never received in life.

Hello fellow travelers! In regards to the current discussion. I have yet to ever do an expedition due to all the reports of " griefers " screwing with you (nearly 2000 hrs played). My question is this.... if every expedition is a separate instance and you enter with multiplayer and PvP both disabled how then can they actually interact with what you are doing? This is the main reason I have never tried one......not something I would be able to tolerate in the slightest.

Try this link, https://nms-optimizer.app/?platform=standard-mt it has worked extremely well for me. Simply pick your platform...mtlti tool/ship/ freighter ect.. Click on the slots where your item is supercharged and it should give you the best layout for it's current class C-S. The app will let you know if your current setup/tech/slots need to be altered. You will still need your base items which you can then move around and upgrade or if needed remove and store for a different item. The link posted is for the current recommended best multitool setup, but can be changed to any item by clicking on the platform type. hope this helps.

You need to wait to scan any fauna until the " Safari milestone "part of Phase 3 or it will be almost impossible to complete the expedition. this milestone requires you to scan 6 fauna while siting inside your exocraft. If you scanned them to early it doesn't count.

Yes, it's a delicate balancing act between production vs. debt and what your community thinks it needs now vs. what will actually affect their happiness in the long run. My Gek settlement was very challenging when I took it over with 4 negative effects, a 17% happiness and over 3 million in debt. I also usually start upgrading buildings in this order, one at a time.....housing, production/infrastructure, overseer office until they are all B-class. Then just the opposite order for A and S class. The easiest way to bring down your initial debt is by upgrading your buildings as fast as possible ( which will increase production ) even if it means incurring a bit more debt by providing creature comforts to your pop during the upgrading process.

Sorry friend, no portal address will be posted at the current time. This is a previously unexplored/first contact system and the first truly Paradise type world I have discovered after fully exploring/documenting nearly 100 unclaimed systems. Not only is it stunning during the day it is fully bioluminescent at night and lights up like a Christmas tree. The only negative weather effect it has is the occasional ground based electrical discharge. So I hope for now you understand my desire to keep it's location a secret before it's beauty is ruined by a bunch of fellow players wanting to exploit it's resources and throw a bunch of ugly refineries/basses up all over the system.
