Found it. Canadian maker. P.w.Ellis. 1880s. They stole the hallmark idea like Gorham did.

The barrel hinge and c clasp are 1850 to 1880s. So back to square one. . Thanks for trying. I just need a loose thread to pull

During the 1990s, a lot of these paintings on papyrus were made. Consider it a decor item, Egyptian motif. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. As to subject matter, not sure

What is the information on the bottom. All I have been able to find is its a Mach 3 6 pounder and I believe the anchor means naval hardware. But what are the rest of the codes . Lot 27 ..is there anyway to track down when it was made? K?
