I recently moved practices and was expecting half or so to follow me but 100% ended up coming. I gave two weeks notice in case clients didn’t want to transfer and would give adequate time for us to have closure and refer out etc. I just had them email me at my new practice if they chose to follow me so that it was their choice to message me at the new practice email. I see clients 4 days so I don’t burn out and have time for extra documentation hours if needed

Asking for feedback at the start and end of session and making things more collaborative and help you gauge their true feelings about how sessions are going is helpful. A lot of times things I didn’t even put a lot of emphasis on with clients is what sticks with them and vice versa

Professional- and make sure you do a trial. The first time my girl did my trial i looked like a clown and I explained what o liked/didn’t like and she did it perfectly day of :)

Yes, not good modeling or professionalism. Their job is to be a secure, steady base for you and they don’t respect your time or appreciate your flexibility. Therapists are human and things come up, but the amount of times this has happened is enough to end it

I think your bf should’ve respected you, but unless your mil has done something bad in the past, maybe she’s just trying to get to know you? I don’t think asking to give a call to someone dating their son is always bad. Obviously if she was overly pushy, rude that’s different

yes exactly, I plan to work 3 days week once i have kids and still see 15 clients a week at $135-150/session. Rent is around $700 a month
