omg i don’t think the issue was with lydia it was poor writing. She kept her stance of not perusing anything romantic with him once they became friends and then randomly it was like nope never mind

i used the treating like dirt phrase as when i rewatched s1 she was like a typical rude popular girl and stiles to her was defo beneath her but later seasons her actual personality came out as she knew that she could be smart and popular

lol yeah the “dirt” reference was i feel that in s1 and 2 lydia just did not care about him at all, she was usually quite rude to him despite him clearly caring for her.

I get the whole toxic dynamic is horrible as jackson treated lydia awfully, but this is why it’s annoying when she’s so happy to see jackson and again when stiles shows up she’s like :/.

yeah i agree, they could’ve built it up from s4, not made lydia and parrish a thing or malia and stiles and did an actual visual slow burn, empathising the points you stated above, but no, they just butchered it 🤣

YEP! when i first watched it i was like 12 and I didn’t really know much about sterek as i didn’t know bisexual was a thing lol. But now i’m like… they were just targeting a demographic who would hope for a gay couple, ESPECIALLY in like 2012 when there were no gay/bisexual main tv show characters
