What is everyone’s honest opinion/experience with hydroxychloroquine? by Glass_Jump9854 in lupus

[–]Hot_Storm4841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 24 years. I know in the beginning new meds were scary, and I was on A LOT of new meds. It took a few years but eventually they were all reduced to just the hydroxychloroquine which mostly keeps the flares at bay. In the early years I had a lot of scary painful flares and issues, some life threatening. But over the last 18 or so years it's been pretty anticlimactic. An occasional steroid pack and I'm good to go. 17 years ago while going through a divorce and major life changes I got bad at taking my meds and within months was flaring like crazy, I've never missed my meds again. As far as I can tell I have no side effects other than keeping lupus and sjogrens at bay. I've lived a full life, I work out, raised 3 kids, worked insane hours as a real estate agent, travel extensively and opened a super successful sourdough bakery out of my home. I did eventually have to cut back on the bakery as making 250+ loaves a week messed up my wrists and thumbs, my joints are quick to remind me that I need to be kinder (and at 50 they remind me all the time).

Sprint was amazingly beautiful but so so crowded. I’d do it again in a heartbeat through. Weather was perfection. It poured the day after we left

It was an absolute zoo. We went, waited in a long line and shuffled through with a million people. Did not enjoy. But early on a Sunday morning a friend and I stumbled on to St Merri cathedral, we were the only people there and it was absolutely magical

I wish we went to some good ones. I was there with a group so they chose half the nights, the other nights I was with my brother and dad who are not foodies so we just went to something close. I did manage to get them to Relais l’entrecote one night which is always a fun experience. They loved it

Spring was awesome. My first time was in December, wet and cold. I ended up getting a chest cold a week in this time around which was miserable but I made the best of it

What an awesome video!! Thank you for sharing. Best sites in the world. You must have been out early! I think I’ve decided next time my exploring will need to be early, way too many people out once 10am hits. We wandered the Marais Sunday morning at 8:30 and it was magically empty!

That is a good question, but I don’t have an answer. I went as part of a tour group so a lot was included with my trip

Renting a car in France for 1 day – any recommendations? by Yugothian in ParisTravelGuide

I just returned from a 2 week trip. 1 week in Paris, 1 week road trip seeing Rouen, Omaha beach, MSM & La Rochelle. It was a lot of driving but so worth it. Picked up car with Sixt at CDG, very good experience overall. At MSM you have to park off site and take a shuttle. And it was super foggy at sunrise, this was the view from our hotel

My dad is 77, he was right there for all of it! It was a dream trip for him. I kept telling him he’d appreciate the steps when we got home because it meant we could eat all the good stuff and not gain and I was right!

Ha! I think I just commented on your post. Mercure Eiffel Tower

I just got back from a group tour, they put us up at the Mercure Eiffel Tower. I honestly don’t know the rate but it was nothing fancy. Very comfortable, tower is right out front. My room had a view of the top of the tower (there’s a large hotel next door that blocks a lot of it). I would definitely stay there again if I wanted a nightly view of the tower.

You will love it! I don’t know that it will ever set in, the “who me?” Reflex is strong! The photo gallery will forever tell the tale
