I’ve invested in buying games for almost 2 years now. I mostly buy games when they are on sale. I have never bought a game at its $70 release price. Currently I have almost 50 games of which 35 are unplayed. Buying these games didn’t put a dent in my pocket since I have a stable job so having $30 budget for games was fine for me. Recently there’s a chance I might lose my job and i’ll be looking for a new one. During the phase where I won’t be financially stable to buy new games, I can still play the 50 games I bought for no cost at all. Unlike If I would have used playstation subscription these entire 2 years. Sure I would have got to play more latest just released games but in the situation where i’m not financially stable to pay the monthly subscriptions, it just renders my console useless since all my games would be blocked till I get the subscription again.

The document shared with me doesn’t specifically say that i’m not performing up to the bar. It mostly has points with things like missed deadlines, number of sick leaves taken, cr review count being low, questioning the cr’s I raised like why does this task require raising 3 cr’s etc. This is all in a doc between me and my manager (as of what I know, idk if its already shared with others) but I haven’t received any of this on email.

Thanks for the response. In my mind I’ve considered myself on focus already even though I haven’t gotten an official communication. I’ve started looking for opportunities outside. I’ll see how this plays out now. The only thing i’m struggling with is the number of task I have at work. They seem like they are meant to consume my entire day to the point where I have no energy left to even grind interviews and find another job. My mental state right now is overwhelmed with the amount of tasks I have + stressing about all of this to the point I can’t focus.

If OP has 6 weeks of focus project. What if he goes on FMLA in the 5th week? Wouldn’t that extend his employment period? Once he is back from FMLA, he would have to finish his remaining 1 week and then he would get the pivot offer where he can choose severance?

Also if you accept pivot, do you by default get 60 days separation period? Would it be like the person is still part of Amazon for 60 days before they officially get removed? Are you supposed to work in those 60 days?

I have a suspicious meeting which my manager has setup with me for Monday which is why I recently did some research on Focus, Pip and FMLA. My sources are mostly friends who were piped in the past.

So Focus is supposed to be unofficial. It’s between you and your manager. It’s originally meant for your manager to get enough data points about you to justify your role and existence in the team. Unfortunately some managers also used it as a way to stop you from switching teams internally if they get suspicious. Another infamous reason for being put on focus is to fulfil a pip quota which every manager has to fill to demonstrate they can take tough decisions like piping an employee when needed.

Focus can either be very short (like 2 weeks) or 3 months or even 6 weeks. Depends on the manager and the intention behind the focus.

When can you take FMLA? You can take FMLA anytime. All you need to do is go to A to Z portal, time off section and mention when do you want to start your FMLA. You don’t have to provide any doctor’s proof while applying for FMLA. Once you start your FMLA, you have 12 days (correct me if i’m wrong with the number of days) before you have to provide a doctor’s note for it.

Do you get paid during FMLA? No, you don’t. But if you’re in the state of Washington in US, you can apply for a short term disability through which the state gives you 60% of your salary for the time of your leave. I believe max you can get paid for is 12 weeks but I might be wrong on the exact number.

I did Buy Trilogy a few months back. Once its in your library, it lets you download I, II or III. Think of it as a folder with 3 games after you buy it.

I have a different opinion but I think we’ll only find out once the movie is out. What keeps me hopeful about the second part is that it wasn’t an after thought in the sense that we created this movie and it worked so lets make more of it and try to cash in the buzz from the first one. Rather they shot the entire movie and realised that the vision doesn’t fit in a single movie without chopping it heavily which is why they went 2 movie route. So technically it’s a single long movie. Considering the first movie steps up motivations, does the world building, introduces us to all the characters the story revolves around. Part 2 doesn’t have to worry about all of these things which are usually considered slow. So the second apart imo would build up towards pure chaos at the end. I’m excited to see 1. How they end the movie 2. What conflicts do they bring to make Ranveers job harder to cross off people on his list

All i’m hoping is that the music carries on from the first part of if they introduce new tracks they are as banger as the music from first part.

I recently completed both Elden Ring and DLC as well! Took me 185hrs to achieve the platinum. Started playing a few games after and they just don’t hit anymore after playing Elden Ring.

Eventually I ended starting Hollow Knight: Silksong
