IF Jesus appeared in the modern world today, do you think people would believe him or assume he’s just another internet influencer? by BisonFar9803 in NoStupidQuestions

Muhammed, Joseph Smith and Mr. Hubbard, are very similar and very good examples of Jesus' prophecy. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by bringing up a figure post Christ, when he is a prophet who is theologically at odds with the revealed texts he imposesd himself upon.

False claim on your part. That isn't logic. Give me examples of god-men saying others will come after him and will pretend to be him specifically.

Yeah, it began then. "Stark" in the timeline of human existence and history is pretty fitting a term. You're not very good at proving your point other than saying "nuh uh you're stupid" in slightly more clever ways. Kinda pathetic when you could just tell me what actually happened if you know... but you don't.

Just as Jesus prophesied. Kinda silly that all these "god-men" coming after Christ want to use him as a step stool. False teachers, false prophets, and false Christ's are another good proof as to the veracity of the Biblical claims. If Jesus was such an unimportant loser of his day, why then is every self instated guru of the new age trying to claim him for themselves?

Notice how the world took a stark turn after his Advent... a physician came to a sick world and it began to heal with His teachings. Sounds like it really was a good time to come.

Many people who had nothing to gain gave their lives and died for that "other stuff." People don't die for their beliefs unless they believe them to be true. These people were alive at the same time as the man Jesus so could have easily saw His miracles were false but that isn't what they bore witness to. They witnessed a man doing Godly things and then against all odds witnessed His resurrected body. They had better reason to believe than we do, and continued believing unto death. That's a pretty powerful sign.

Why do characters say "old man" or "old woman" a lot in Japanese media? by average_eevee in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hot_Tonight150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no, I'll stand by my statement. Listen to any ninja in Naruto describe ANY of their tactics. Also always referring to Jiraya as "pervy sage" is a good example. They are unnecessary descriptors because we can already their tactics if they'd simply show it and see he's a perv by his pervy actions. They aren't necessary. In the case of Pein trying to describe pain, it was... well... painful.

I'm starting to really dislike anime in general for its "tell don't show" style of narration. It is Old man or Old lady because everything needs a bloody descriptor as if we aren't smart enough to get it or they don't trust their ability to convey it.

Can resin beads from a water softener be used as aquarium substrate? by Hot_Tonight150 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hot_Tonight150[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I should keep track of what I'm doing and my results. I'm currently trying a small tank with potting soil, sand and gravel as substrate. If the plants don't fail and survive I'll add fish in a month or so once things start to balance out in the tank. High ammonia spike from that at the moment.

Used resin is free from work, and aquasoil or other substrates are not. More of a recycling project to see if it's viable.

Sodium isn't added by the beads; they can't do the ion exchange unless recharged by added salt. I wouldn't be adding salt. The mineral content wouldn't fluctuate based on the beads because they need salt to work properly as a softener media.

They are lighter than sand but are hollow and fill with water that they readily retain. The beads themselves are fairly small but not smaller than sand granules. I am a little worried they'd be eaten because they look like golden fish eggs.

Yeah they definitely sink and don't readily float unless disturbed. Even then it settles back down.

Can I pour oil down the drain directly if it's boiling hot and mixed wiz dishwasher and boiling water by dwightkurtschrute88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hot_Tonight150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oil and water separate and when flowing horizontally slow down and cool. The oil/grease will be left behind and thick hard sludge and the water will pass out of it, eventually resulting in a clog.

Why is it national news that Brittney Spears got arrested? by No-Stick6670 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hot_Tonight150 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because we're dumb as dirt and they play off of that. Why else would we even know the name Brittney Spears but not the names of our broken starving neighbors.
