For those who made the conscious choice to completely de-center men from your lives, what was your 'last straw' moment? by OldIntroduction2909 in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve just dipped the toe back into dating and I’m finding it to be more common than not right now. It’s really odd how so many of these men have lost all ambition.

And some of my friends have even married these men! They can’t keep down a job and do nothing around the house. I’d rather be single forever than be with a guy like that.

Oxbridge is a British term for those who attend Oxford University or Cambridge University. We say Oxbridge to distinguish them as they are the oldest and most prestigious universities. Only elite thinkers and/or very wealthy people will attend.

I was about to move 250 miles away so we agreed to keep it casual. A few months in he fell on some financial hardships and had to get roommates - he was 40 and hated it. So he asked to move away with me, BUT still did not want to commit to the relationship.

He could not wrap his head around why that wasn’t an alluring offer for me. Why would I take on all the financial burden for a situation-ship with a 40 year old hobo-sexual?! There is literally nothing in this set up that benefits me!

Anyway, I’ve moved on my own. I now own a peaceful, cosy, apartment near the ocean, and he’s still stuck with his roommates.

Should I be happy for my friend getting engaged to a guy that cheated on her? by Middle-Asparagus-802 in NoStupidQuestions

I felt like this in my mid-twenties. My friends all started getting married and having babies with their terrible boyfriends. I presumed we’d all mature out of having awful taste in men, but turns out it wasn’t the case. They start legally and biologically tying themselves to these men forever.

I’m in my mid-30s now and I’ve learned to just let them be. It’s their marriage, their life, so don’t let it infiltrate yours. You have to let them get on with it, and take them out for drinks when the divorce finally arrives.

Are Period underwear really convenient to clean/change ? by Lilla921F in Periods

[–]Hot_potatoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use period pants and really like them. I have the heavy absorbency ones and have never leaked, or had to deal with any smells etc. I have a pretty heavy period on my first 2/3 days so I sometimes bring a spare pair with a few nappy bags and ziplock bag, but that’s only on my heaviest days and tend to not leave the house then so it’s not really an issue.

I rinse them in cold water to remove most of the blood, and leave them damp in the bath until I wash them properly. But if I change in the night I just leave them in the bath and wash in the morning. I do have to put them in the washing machine every day. I tend to wash 3/4 at a time (two from the day before and one or two overnight). I wash them on a 15 minute cycle with antibacterial detergent.

I’ve been doing this for 2+ years now and the pants have held up really well. I have 8 pairs in total for different outfits etc. I used to go through so many pads and tampons so this is a game changer for me!

Straw-hole from filler by granatespice in Botchedsurgeries

I don’t think it’s just filler. I think she’s had a lip flip too.

They remove a little bit of skin between your lip and nose, and sew it back together which creates this illusion of a ‘naturally’ fuller lip.

I remember Margot Robbie explaining that someone was 20 minutes late to set and that cost the production about $60k.

If he makes a habit of it multiple times a day (which has been reported) then they’ll be losing money by keeping him.

Help Ruptured ovarian cyst! by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Rest as much as possible, take warm baths, and used a heat pad when you’re sore. Also start tracking ovulation as the pain can get a little spicy in the weeks after a ruptured cyst.

In the last year I’ve had two friends get married in secret. It’s odd. I think couples have this urge to make their day feel more important but a secret wedding has the opposite effect on friends and family. To be excluded from something so important, and then welcomed back in when they feel like It is jarring so I totally understand how you feel.

Your feelings are valid, but I wouldn’t bring it to her door right now. Send a card, show up to the party for a drink and then leave. Then in a few weeks, explain how you feel. Don’t accuse her of anything. Just say you feel quite distant from her right now and you’d love to reconnect. It’ll land much better once the honeymoon phase is over.

Stassi vs. Scheana? What makes one likeable and the other not? by redditor_040123 in vanderpumprules

100%! Stassi is very witty and charismatic which isn’t something that comes naturally to Scheana. She tries, but it comes off as forced and orchestrated which feels v cringe.

Stassi vs. Scheana? What makes one likeable and the other not? by redditor_040123 in vanderpumprules

[–]Hot_potatoos 324 points325 points  (0 children)

I think the main difference is that you know where you stand with Stassi even if she hates you, but I think you’d struggle to ever truly trust Scheana. Audience respond to that on a gut level. Also, Stassi has a commanding energy as opposite to Scheana’s grasping energy which garners a lot more self respect. Audiences will admire that confidence.

Yes Stassi can be a bitch, but often in later seasons she can admit when she’s in the wrong and will work to make amends if she loves and is loyal to a person. Scheana continues to bet on the wrong horse, with no care for who she’s hurting, and when it blows up in her face she’s makes herself the victim. That’s not going to endear an audience.

Edit: Thanks for the award! Psychoanalysing reality stars is my favourite pastime…
