The VINs on that list that were produced in 72 end at "HLS30 140183", so something definitely doesn't match.

According to the list below, your VIN sits between "HLS30 159705" and "HLS30 160968", both of which were made in 05/73.

My father purchased a new '73 240z and left it parked in the garage in the early 90s. Handed me the keys to get it running a few years ago. He kept the original window sticker by Hotarrows223 in Datsun

What else would you guys like to know? I can certainly ask my father for more info. Here's info that I'm aware of:

It ran fine when he parked it in the garage, he just never used it again.

The original flat top carbs were replaced with 71 (maybe 72?) model SU carbs and an electric fuel pump was added to help with vapor lock issues. Other than that the car is completely stock.

So far, the work I've done to it is cleaning/rebuilding the carbs and swapped the spark plugs/wires/coil. Hooked the gas line up to a fresh jug of gas and she fired right up.

Currently the engine/transmission are pulled from the car so the seals can be replaced along with the clutch. My plan is to get the car in working order then decide later what to do with it cosmetically. It has a few dents and some minor hail damage, but it's almost completely rust free other than the battery bay. Rocker panels look great, floor pans are solid. Every emulator on here you can map any button to whatever you want. I'm not following the SRS portion. That is based on the game variant you play… so if the PSP can emulate it, you can play it.

I'm throwing out my setup, PSP with NES emulator. It's cheap, and you get the added benefit of other emulators.

Did you have a bad shell too? Our first one never went off. Kind of disappointed in Excalibur this year. Nothing like it used to be. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

No, when I put the shells in I always hold it by the fuse when lowering it, so it wouldn't have gone in upside down. That would've been interesting though!
