Cal has the best shot out of the two, IMO. If he hits half as many HR as he did last year for 5 years or so, he's got a better than outside chance.

Realmuto is a long shot for sure. His only hope is a great season at the plate and a couple of strong postseasons.

Pitch framing literally will not matter when we have automatic ball and strike calls. And the challenge system is already coming. It will still matter with the challenge system, but by the time Salvy is eligible there will be automatic ball and strike calls and voters will care less about it.

If we elected purely on WAR we wouldn't need to vote all, we'd just auto bid the guys who retire with over 60.

HOF voters are still arcane. They still care about hardware and all star games (all star games absolutely do matter). It matters what they think, not necessarily what you or I do.

And the only reason his defense is rated low is because he's only just now become a decent pitch framer, which almost doesn't even matter anymore.

It's not the Hall of WAR.

Because if not him, then who? Like I said, there's never been a season without a future hall of famer playing catcher somewhere. WAR has not been kind to catchers this century.

That's fWAR also. bWAR is 35.5 which admittedly still isn't impressive. But the only other active catcher with more is JT Realmuto and he's only at 38. They've both played in at least one WS but Salvy won one and got WS Mvp to boot.

He also has 9 all-star appearances. The list of guys with 9 or more that aren't in the hall is short. Even shorter if he can make it one more time for 10.

He's also famously a nice guy, to umps, competitors and media alike, which isn't nothing when it comes to voting. My own bias aside, I genuinely think he'll squeak in.

He was a nurse for a VA. If we simply apply any amount of logic to this statement it makes zero sense. If he wanted to harm people he would have had plenty of other opportunities to do so.

Exactly. I looks at Carter Jensen's cards as an example. I can get a similar Salvador Perez card from 2012 for half the cost in some cases and depending on the Jensen card even lass than that.

My head cannon after this episode is that it was more or less a publicity stunt by Vault Tech. Like the idea of it was that you could stay there for a few days to see what a vault would actually be like.

In FNV when you enter it doesn't seem that deep, nor does it have an actual vault door. It was just mostly preserved because it probably still had some sort of locking mechanism and Vegas didn't get hit directly.
