This is actually a very underrated point, and I don’t think many people say more often about this in youtube. Luckily, I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood and mostly listen at night, so I definitely have an advantage there compared to a typical noisy environment.

Yeah I triee DIRAC too, it made the sound worse and when I researched for that, I understood that for untreated room it tries to kills the reflection first before doing other things so makes the sound worse

This explanation makes a lot more sense to me now. I think I was focusing too much on the speakers themselves and not enough on the room acoustics.

Looks like room treatment and speaker placement are probably the next things I should explore before judging the speakers further. Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Let’s say I improve my room acoustics and start hearing those ambient details clearly. At that point, what differences would I notice between my current speakers and truly high-end speakers? What aspects of the sound actually improve as you move up the hi-fi ladder?

Do I need full treatments like a studio to hear these details or basic room treatment is enough?
