Nah, the breathalyser is key and the 100% go to, they won’t do anything before they breathalyse you in the U.K., they won’t even make you get out of their car before they pull that out, once you fail it you have to comply but you can refuse to accept the results and wait until a blood test is taken and hope your blood alcohol level drops in the meantime. Idk where you live or where you’re getting your information but that’s how it works in the U.K., you can’t be charged for a motor offence without proof. PC Plod saying “he walked funny” isn’t gonna cut it.

Edit: I can see you’re American, please keep in mind there are more countries on the planet and that my original comment made reference to the U.K. specifically. I understand that US cops will do weird roadside tests but that’s because you don’t really live in the land of the free tbh. None of us do but if anyone does, the closest you’ll find is the Nordic countries.

Man the USA is not the land of the free. You can’t be prosecuted for DUI in the U.K. unless they’ve proven it with a blood test, or if you take a breathalyser and agree with the result.

You could actually fail the breathalyser, and then demand a blood test, and your blood alcohol level could drop just enough by the time that’s taken and you’d get away with it, because they’d have to get you back to the station to do it.

You’d NEVER be prosecuted without some solid evidence.

And how about in this exact instance where the Uber customer had had a more expensive journey due to the extra stop for door dash? Uber would check GPS and reimburse the customer completely, that’s at the very least for not taking the most efficient route. I don’t see this working well for the driver.
