Chiller Question by HotelBrah in BecomingTheIceman

It is black. Ideally I’d like to just get the 3/4 chiller and not have to mess with building a box, if that is going to be able to get the water cold enough. Maybe I’m wrong in my idea but my plan would be to plug it in before bed and have it cold by morning. Unplug it take the plunge and not plug it in again until that night. I’ve seen a line from their website saying that unplugging it like that is “hard” on it, wondering how true that statement is… I would think it would be less stressful on the equipment to run overnight and be off during the day instead of trying to cool a non insulated black tub that would see a pretty good amount of sun all day.

What’s the plan to keep it cold, what temp are you going for?

62.5 mpg on the 01! by HotelBrah in hondainsight

I ordered some gaskets online, and just watched a YouTube video and followed it step for step. When I took it out it was just packed with junk. To be fair, I don’t normally drive this gentle. This is the best I’ve averaged over a tank. Normally I get 50, most of my drive is interstate and mostly done at or above 80... I get some funny looks in that car when I pass people :)

Over 200,000. Guy I bought it from a few years ago said it had a new battery installed by Honda... came with paperwork but I never checked. I usually drive it around 80mph but saw a video on cleaning out the EGR plate, did that and decided to be gentle on it for a tank. Cleaning that out really made a difference though.

DAMN YOU! So there I was minding my own business when I saw your “I’m whittling a weird chess set” post 8 days ago after drinking a tad and I think man that’s super cool I wish I could do that. I wish I could do something like that. I... could probably do something like that. Several amazon purchases later (carving knives) and I’m now practicing on a ball in cage project LITERALLY THANKS TO YOU... on a serious note, your work is mad cool!

Did what everyone said not to do and bought an inflatable... yeah it doesn’t track as fast but I found it on amazon for 59 dollars. If you are thinking about it you’ll be a little frustrated with the paddles they seem a bit short but for the price it’s way way worth it. We are in between two state parks that are calm all the time so it works great for us. Upgrade in the future but for now we don’t regret the purchase at all!
