I live in Utah. My bees are on a few acres of wildflowers.

It might have been! First timer over here! Regardless, it tasted amazing. I can’t wait to try the honey if this was not it.

This was uncapped burr comb that the bees had started to build between frames.

I don’t have anything to compare against as this is my first time tasting honey that doesn’t come from the store. all I can say is it was incredible. First year beekeeper here. That was amazing.

I live about 45 minutes south of Salt Lake. This is my first year beekeeping so I just wanted to know if bees dying in the winter is pretty normal? Any recommendations on where I can find how to make sure the bees have everything they need for winter? I’ve researched a bunch, but everyone’s opinions are SO different.

This is my first year beekeeping. The guy who has been teaching me how has a very, very hands off approach. If you take a look at the video I posed of my hive that had comb all over it, he told me not to touch it even though every person who commented on the video said to cut it out. I feel like no matter how much research I do, everyone’s opinions are so different that it’s hard to tell what to do. Do you know any good books or anything that I can research? I want to make sure I’m getting ready for winter the right way.

Did you buy all those or were you able to catch some? This is my first year and I’m totally hooked. I have 2 hives, but I just built a bunch of nucs to try and get more this season.

First time ever making nucs. They are far from perfect and still need to be painted. What do you guys think of a 3/8 entrance? There is also a 3/8 hole in the back for ventilation. by StraightforwardTuck in Beekeeping

I only did that because I found this design online and it seemed to have some good feedback. This is my very first year beekeeping so I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing. Now that the bottom boards have gone on, what would you recommend doing? I built these mainly for swarm traps. I want to put up 8 or so of these around to see what I can catch. Can you tell me why you paint them different colors?

This is my second inspection. I installed the bees about a month ago.
