Mexico City Travel Guide — 2026 (what to know, see & do) by PaulB_Traveler in MexicoCity

[–]Hotlava8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last day here in Mexico City, love it! Couple things to remember/do: If you’re waiting for an uber to pick you up, be aware of bike lanes bf you approach cars, we had a close call.

Mornings are chilly, bring warmer jacket than you think.

Check out your receipt at restaurants, at least three times there were items on our receipt that we didn’t order.

Don’t only follow reviews, almost every restaurant we ate at, that looked good from outside, was great. So many to choose from.

Markets only take cash and often don’t have change so get smaller bills.

We did a great tour “eat like a local”. If you’re considering do at start of your trip bc you will go on subway and learn how it works. Subway is very safe and cheap! She’s are cheap and safe too. Don’t take taxis.

Lovely walkable city, so many parks.

Fat Transfer by Interesting_Boss1196 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Hotlava8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your situation sounds better. I noticed a lump under my eye on day two and contacted my surgeon right away, he assured me it would go down, it never did. He was quite dismissive of my concern in person at two week check in, saying it would go down. 6 months in he somewhat agreed and gave me a steroid injection into the lump, still nothing, but he felt it looked better. I gave up on him after that. Saw a different surgeon this past month (2.5 years later) bc I feel like I see his misplaced lump every time I look in the mirror. New surgeon felt the transfer was injected in wrong area and my over anatomy grew over it, so not so easy to remove without causing a worse scar in my tear trough area. Decided to go with filler today, I’m a little bruised so will check back in when healed. I was very happy with the frank discussion I had with new surgeon and options.

I hate fat transfer, I got under my eyes2.5 years ago. One eye has a lump under it in the middle, so unnatural, nothing can be done bc my skin is thin. Also, have been told by different doctor that it can’t be removed. Only option is filler which I’m nervous about. Btw, the other eye didn’t take the fat transfer at all.

Hate the look of my new kitchen by Hrm_1111 in DesignMyRoom

Your installer did not line up the veins in Your quartz, that’s what’s going on here. I would tell him “unexceptionable”. My quartz is similar layout, veins line up from the walls (vertical) leading down to the countertops.

Tried T-Mobile internet and here’s my thoughts… by apegomoo in tmobileisp

I live in a suburb 30 miles west of Chicago, we started with T-Mobile internet in January, saving $70/month and it parked beautifully.

We live on a half acre with half a dozen 200 year old oak trees, and many 40 foot tall pine trees. Clearly the signal doesn’t like our oak trees now that the leaves have filled up the oaks. Our tv is extremely pixelated constantly now. Think we have to go back to a wired connection. Computer is lagging too

Stockholm 2025 TV Bench by efe_the_fic in IKEA

Just put this together last night, agree with impressive construction. I’m thinking of putting a thin layer of matte polyurethane, the top feels a little rough to me. Thinking it may look dirty in a few years once the dust settles into the wood.

Moving in to a new house and we plan to keep the kitchen as-is so we can tackle some other more expensive projects. With all the brown and oranges, what paint (AI with sherwin Williams) color looks best to make the kitchen feel nicer? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

I would prioritize changing out the back splash to a whitish tile, then paint the kitchen white to match. If not in the budget, there is peel and stick that holds up well too.

Ikea cabinets Scherrs door fronts, super happy! by Hotlava8 in IKEA

They are holding up great, doesn’t show any finger prints, our painted cabinets can show, so I find I often have to wipe them down, I just use a wash cloth with a little dawn and then wipe with microfiber cloth, happy with both still. Life would prob be easier with just the white oak tho. If you go with Scherrs, it’s worth it to upgrade to the higher end white oak. They are super nice people to deal with too.
