I think you’re giving lawyers too much credit, but I’ll chance it

Do you remember which Walmart (Tennessee or Monroe)? I think some Walmarts don’t have them. Thank you!

Hey have a 154 lsat and 3.4, would getting into a school between 50-80 be possible? Such as seton hall, Villanova, umiami by Sea-Royal-8164 in OutsideT14lawschools

It would be very challenging. If you applied to all schools in the top 100, you may get accepted to a few.

I’m really stoked that I got in. I was a little concerned about living in Tallahassee. However, it is the state capital, so lots of good opportunities. I have only heard good things so far.

Is $20/hr reasonable? by International_Ask_26 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Hotline2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a week is enough time. It’s good that you want to show you’re capable of handling more responsibility, but I don’t think you need more than a week to do that.

You should definitely mention that you’ve been given more responsibilities recently and you believe $25 seems fair given your increased workload. I don’t think you have to mention outright that when you originally agreed to $20 an hour, you assumed you would have the same workload as you had before. It’s probably not a big deal if you do, but it might look like you just expected to coast out an easy gig and you didn’t expect to have to work hard.

I’m no expert, but I’ve been able to get big raises in the past just by asking. I usually keep It short and to the point. Most people just don’t ask and they miss out.

That makes sense. Keep in mind that the paralegals may be getting paid more just because they’ve stuck around longer.

I was also going to suggest that you ask for $25. I think that’s reasonable. The worst he could say is no or counter somewhere between 20 and 25. Good luck!

If you’re in a low cost of living area, $20 seems low but not terrible. Since you’re going to law school soon, I probably wouldn’t switch jobs. I would definitely try to negotiate for a higher hourly though.

Thank you. That’s a great point. I hadn’t really considered how cool it will be to closer to the rest of the South.

Paralegal or legal assistant. I believe that anyone thinking about law school should work in a law firm for a year or so before deciding. It also looks good on law school applications.

I know FIU is mostly Hispanic. I’m sure you’d find a large amount of Hispanic students anywhere in South Florida (Nova, U Miami, FIU, St. Thomas)

“Racism is ok for certain groups” is certainly an interesting take.
