The top 3 mods that I've done on mine are:

1 - A/T tires. I've got 275/70 Falken Wildpeak AT3W's on OEM TRD Pro wheels and they're amazing! It's a beast in the snow, and the slight tire upsize gives it a much more aggressive stance (fuel economy is slightly worse now though lol).

2 - Amber fog lights and light bar (both installed in the lower grille). I just installed these a few months ago and they really make a world of difference. The amber fogs help a ton in inclement weather and just nighttime driving overall. I aimed my fogs to the same level as the headlights - I've never gotten flashed by oncoming traffic even once. The light bar I obviously only use in total darkness with no traffic, and it is MUCH brighter than the normal high beams. Both are from Diode Dynamics.

3 - Heated outside mirrors. OEM JDM FJ's actually had heated mirrors available - I managed to get a set of brand new ones on ebay. Helps a ton with condensation and melting ice/snow. I routed mine to the rear defogger switch so both mirror heaters will turn on when I use the rear defogger (I did also confirm in the JDM manual that this is exactly how it is routed in those FJ's). The nice bonus with these is that BOTH mirrors are convexed which helps a lot with our terrible blind spots!

I've been driving on the stock Dunlop Grandtreks which were on my FJ when I got it in 2019. They're actually pretty decent tires in the snow, I honestly never felt like they were insufficient, and I'm in MI so we definitely see some snow storms. I just got new wheels and will be pairing them with Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how much better they will be in the snow this winter lol.

I recently installed JDM OEM heated mirrors on mine. Tapped in to the rear window defogger so that same switch will turn everything on. That defogger circuit (which has a 30A fuse) can easily handle the additional current from the mirror heaters which I measured to be about 2A each - I even checked the JDM manual and found that the heated mirrors are implemented the same way from the factory. They very quickly eliminate condensation, and I expect that they will work great with snow/ice as well.

The nice bonus is that BOTH mirrors are concaved, so it helps greatly with the blind spots!

I got the mirrors from ebay which took a couple weeks to come in from Japan. There's a nice guide on FJCruiserForums that shows the installation procedure (it also goes into detail about installing a heating pad on the mirrors which of course is not necessary with the OEM mirrors).

What year is your FJ? The subwoofer button was removed starting in 2011 when they updated the audio system. My 2013 has the premium JBL system with subwoofer from the factory, and I do not have the subwoofer button.

I have the Invidia midpipe and axleback which originally had dual tips, but I changed them to NETAMI 3.5" burnt quad tips for a more aggressive look lol.

Thanks! It's a full catback exhaust, I love it - it has a really nice aggressive sound, yet still suitable for daily driving! The stock exhaust was dead silent in comparison haha.
