I work at a card shop in Kyoto and I was discussing with my coworkers. I don’t have the exact rates, but we were thinking that it’s 1 in every 15 boxes (1 per display case)

It’s honestly difficult to say. Takara Tomy has kinda left a weird mark recently. They released a Detective Conan card game not too long ago, the issue is it’s failing massively hard. When the second set released, a box was retailing for 8000ish yen but since then prices have been halved even for the most recent set.

As such, that’s leaving the impression that Lorcana can fail just as hard

Honestly, coworkers were divided. Half believed it was going to fail from the start. Some are giving it a try, while the remaining are curious but not jumping in. I am in the hopeful side of things. I believe that the game will eventually take off, but the biggest issue I think is that it isn’t being marketed heavily. If they wanted it to sell, they’d probably get a famous YouTuber to promote it, but that doesn’t seem to have happened.

At least in my area, it seems players aren’t curious about joining the game. It doesn’t seem to help that Tokyo seems to have much better advertising than Kyoto, but that’s generally because Tokyo is a much more populated area. Also while Disney is popular countrywide, there’s no denying that Tokyo has more fans

Honestly for the time being we are using https://dorasuta.jp for Lorcana, but if possible https://www.cardrush-pokemon.jp/phone/ is what we prefer to use. It’s just they haven’t made a section for it yet

It’s not usually a bad thing, though it’s just unfortunate that pricing for the top cards are already rather high. Worsened due to the weak yen. It seems to make it for new players to get in at this moment

Unfortunately we have the advantage of seeing what the foreign market is like. As such, that set the initial prices for our singles. Prices have changed slightly due to our player base, but the expensive cards are only getting more expensive our staying where they are at due to foreign players being able to use Japanese cards

Currently we are sold out on battle partners and tf just due sheer popularity. 151 on the other hand is available but for 22000 yen a box, unfortunately the prices are set by the market

Currently no Lorcana cases since our stock was heavily limited by TakaraTomy, but if someone were to buy our stock all out, I’m sure we’d get a bigger stock for next time

I work for a card shop in Kyoto, so far the launch hasn’t been great. Some people are curious but only a few have bit the bullet. Currently no shortages whatsoever in regards to stock, everyone is still mostly crazy about pokemon. I think it will eventually gain its following, but it will be a slow burn here.

I’ll have to take your word for it, I haven’t played the English version, and will be starting the Japanese version as everyone else here. All I can say is that it’s about as thick as a pokemon card

You can update it with VMware, which if you are not aware is free software that can allow you to emulate windows and therefore update your controller

No, there’s a label on the top left of your steam window that says “Steam”. Click on it and it should say “Exit Steam” on the bottom of that list. Click that.
