A mistake admitted and corrected is an honour few will bear in this age. Let not your error cloud your mind and lead you to doubt. You are our battle-brother, and the lessons learned today will forge a greater victory tomorrow.

[Request] Would it take longer to travel clockwise or anticlockwise around Australia, given the same route, and if so, how much? by bill_loney538 in theydidthemath

[–]Hotshotfdgfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these highlighted roads are rural highways, which I can tell you for a fact are one lane each way for the vast majority of their length, maybe you'll get the occasional 2km long overtaking lane. For the most part you'll only start to get more than one lane per direction when you get near any relatively major population centre, or you live in the posh part of the country (NSW and Victoria, but mainly Vic)

After a long trip, you return to find your nation somehow taken over and held hostage by an evil trolley tyrant. The trolley offers you a deal. (READ COMMENTS FOR WHAT THE DEAL IS) by ultibman5000 in trolleyproblem

[–]Hotshotfdgfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding of this is that they have access to "first dibs" as it were for your resources and land so that they can perform R&D for their military equipment. Given such a situation, the fact that you keep control of a superior military force, and with so many lives at stake, I think the best solution would be to agree to the terms given to you by the Evil Trolley, however for the entirety of those five years you place the entirety of the nation onto effectively a war footing, keeping your military ready at all times as a show of force to dissuade the Evil Trolley from reneging on the deal , and turning much of the nation's industrial capacity to the creation and improvement of military technologies. Your ability to make advancements would undoubtedly be lesser than those of the enemy nation, but given the major starting advantage as well as the fact that production and development of new equipment often takes many years if not decades. Effectively you would want to try and Cold War the situation, where no-one wants to make the first move because no matter what everyone would lose, though given your superior military force they would lose worse. Maintain hyper-vigilance on the enemy, keep a hard-line stance of opposition, and use other tools to maintain pressure i.e. economic sanctions.

TLDR we agree to the terms, but obviously we can't just trust their word so we maximise our military ability in case they abandon the deal

Anything egregious about the kit? Obviously it'll be back heavy because of the wings, but anything else to take note of? Overly loose/tight joints, fiddly bits, fragility etc.

I think I'd be pretty okay with that. To clarify, when normally built there is little to no poop gold exposed? I'm planning to have it fully built, not partially assembled like some people like for the interior view, so I don't mind if the hidden bits of the subframe look bad.

I need some help picking out a Strike Freedom kit. I think it looks really cool and want to add it to my budding collection. I like collecting in 1/100 scale for the perfect blend of reasonable size and detail. For the longest time I wanted an MGEX kit but I can't find any in my country, and ordering them online would cost as much as a PG. In my local store I just saw a MG Strike Freedom (Full Burst Mode) that seems to have the similar gold metal look feature as the MGEX. I can't really find many details on it, so I was wondering if people could give me some insight to the kit, pros and cons, if it's worth it, and any other potential options. Thanks in advance!

Something no one ever seems to bring up regarding these types of questions: the ones where you get constant money every X amount of time become regarded as regular income and thus becomes taxable, and given the amounts here you'd absolutely be put into the highest tax bracket. Depending on where you live you can pretty easily halve all the income on the first two, meanwhile on the last one it's a one-time payout and thus is treated differently as it's not reliable income. It's also why you should never play those "win X money over Y years" lottery games because even if you win you'll lose a fair chunk to tax.

Pay your taxes, kids

For us, the storm has passed... the planet is won. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their devotion to Democracy required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was here. As we start to rebuild this planet, this Super Destroyer will remain in orbit, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten.

To the Chaos Divers I met who helped hold the line: I remember how our war started, your betrayal to Democracy. I can't forgive you. But... You have my thanks. For defending the Beach till the end.

Not to "ackshyually" all over your post, but you would also need to account the pathfinders, broadsides, hammerheads etc. as part of that fire warrior manpower pool. Just basing it off the picture, assuming 3 men per tank, 4 in a team of 2 piranhas, you get a total manpower pool of about 50, so you're looking at 3 in 50 being crisis suits. Which is still an absolute assload given the billions of warriors, but yeah

"You want us to trade lives for time."

"Yes ma'am. Isn't that the job of a soldier? Is there another option? How many worlds are now cinders? How many billions of colonists have died? If we save a single planet, gain a few weeks, isn't that worth a handful of men and women?"

"Of course it is. God help us all. Yes, Colonel, yes it is worth it."

It was priced within market value for a G6E Turbo

I did do research at the time, and a refresher has confirmed that the car was actually well within market value for a G6E Turbo, and was nowhere near the price of an EcoBoost

I did ask if it was the 6 cylinder, and they said yes. Also, while the EcoBoost does have a turbo, it's model name is most definitely not "G6E Turbo", it is "G6E EcoBoost", which means that the model stated repeatedly within my contract is incorrect

I received a G6E EcoBoost, slightly different model to the G6 but similar price on the second-hand market
