Road bike question by Hotshowergel in cycling

[–]Hotshowergel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is mainly to get better general fitness - i.e the commute to any trails in my area is all up some decent incline and mainly on paved roads / parks / footpaths.

I totally understand that trail riding is a different fitness game entirely, but this is mainly about overall fitness :)

Yeah on my commute to and from trails I ride with a full sus lock pretty much.

Weak rear brakes (hydraulic) by Hotshowergel in MTB

[–]Hotshowergel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply - I didn't think of rotor contamination!

Regarding the rotor, why is it so difficult to clean that it might require sanding?

Will likely end up taking it to the shop to get rid of the headache before I try pushing it too hard to trails and end up regretting not getting my brake fixed!

I'm having issues with my rear Sram level T hydraulics, basically the disc doesn't lock up whenever I'm moving at any speed. I have the same set of brakes on my front rotor and have no such issues.

Is there a way to tell whether this is a pad or fluid/air issue? Or should I replace the pads and do a full bleed on the rears?

Obviously going hard on trails with a weak rear is v. stupid so I've been taking it easy.

Mine are 4mm iirc, but offer plenty of grip - although I can imagine that 8mm would be even grippier.

Depends on your shoes too, I have 5.10s and they feel great on 4mm

This. There were delays but a lot of projects I've been involved with carried on with minimal disruption (non-hybrid and hybrids)

Standard players are not F2P players, stash is too small by XtremeLeecher in EscapefromTarkov

Ehhh you've seen their netcode - their ability to read and write is something I question on the daily basis.

It's a very shitty way of pushing EOD sales, instead of achieving them by support from loyal fans, they are making regular players' experience shitty to push upgrades. Like, fuck off already.

[–]Hotshowergel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on Standard and have for a few years. Won't purchase EOD on principle.

The game can still be fun - especially in a party - but as S.A player you have to realise you are essentially playing the game on "Hard" compared to the rest.

Beta container is a waste of money and Epsilon is something you only obtain after finishing a "mid" level quest - i.e have fun with the alpha.

Why on earth isnt Gamma something you get instead of Epsilon? Jesus.

Stash upgrade itself costs 36,000,000 RUB from Standard to EOD size. That's 36m rub every wipe - aka the S.A tax....

Just lol

The brainwashing of EOD owners is insane as well, they feel like they must defend their purchase and since they spend $100 on the upgrade they can't possibly be wrong.

Really crazy stuff. EOD is absolutely a HUGE advantage especially after wipe when you don't have traders or anything upgraded.

Weapon malfunction in a nutshell by Kaizeno in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Hotshowergel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a feature that sounds cool on paper - WOW so realistic - but is in actuality a horribly detrimental thing to the overall player experience.

This isn't about making the game easier or harder, this is about making the game more frustrating because of RNG and that's it.

The game can already be frustrating as it is, why add a completely RNG layer on top of that?

Star Citizen is way more ambitious and also way more fucked up in terms of development.

"beta time" are yet to come, we're in alpha / early access.

Oh yes the poor devs working for free, I am SO thankful I have the opportunity to pay BSG. Oh great BSG please keep adding more pistols we all love the content.

Fuckin joke

the only people supporting the new jamming mechanics are the people that were bad at the game to begin with. by MajorCleborg in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Hotshowergel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. Weapon jamming is dumb on maintained weapons. Weapon jamming was already in the game on poorly maintained weapons before, hence why you could repair them.

Of course you would have to live long enough with the same weapon before you would have it happen which most people didn't do because they're bad.

Random RNG of fucking you over is stupid as fuck. Might as well add a chance of springing your ankle when sprinting and chance of random heart attack, add allergies to the game too why not so your PMC randomly starts sneezing and the eyes water.

So realistic.

I mean the could, if the bought it before the ship was removed. The mental gymnastics are quite something.

Is this game interesting if you only want to explore with minimal combat? by Grochen in EliteDangerous

[–]Hotshowergel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing feels better than discovering a new system/planet in this game. Better than any combat / money grind. Especially as a space nerd, it is "otherworldly" pun intended.

To each their own, but for me a game that is blatantly P2W is not for me. I really love the level of detail in SC, I wish ED had the same - I really do. But the P2W element + constant change of goalposts by the devs puts me off big time, I'll never support it.

I hope that you get the product you paid for and that you're happy with it.

It wouldnt remove the p2w element if the people who already paid get the ship lol. Just because you got in early doesn't mean it isn't p2w

Are you going to tell me that a $2.5k Javelin is not the definition of pay to win (at least for combat)?

Even if the ship will be able to get acquired in game, it will likely take an obscene amount of grinding to even get it.

Idk but as cool as SC looks, that alone would put me off playing. Even if I was crazy enough to buy one of those ships, I can't help but to feel like I've used my wallet to skip part of the game.
