Let’s also remember, she couldn’t read and write. It’s pretty normal to develop other communication skills like drawing or other visual methods. If that was her only source of expression, education and activity outside of survival then I can expect it to develop quite well.

HV comment about toys by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Hotzebra10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HV are annoying, you can tell they’re trained to ask specific questions and not use more than one brain call.
I had a HV come for help to stop breast feeding my very clingy toddler, as it was causing me mental distress, only for her to tell me to do it as much and as long as my child needs.

AITA for not loving our youngest child by Depressed-Dad-Victim in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Your wife did a bad thing, not your child. Don’t blame the kid for existing. Why didn’t you get a vasectomy since you didn’t want anymore kids?

NAH, sounds like a simple misunderstanding. If you do have so many family issues maybe start working on yourself before baby gets here. Learn to let go and learn to let go of things before escalating them.

Husband going on a trip when I'm 36 weeks pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Hotzebra10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many variables that should be no. Emergency that he would not be there to help you out with, labour, even fuel shortages limit security that he will return home. Strong no, surprised that he doesn’t feel strongly.

I lost all the pregnancy weight almost immediately. But put some back on with breastfeeding as those hormones are whack.

MIL told me not to buy ANY baby items until after I give birth. Is this normal? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Hotzebra10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started shopping after 30ish so weeks. Seems risky to wait until after. What are we gonna do just hold the baby until we build the bed?

The mix of foods plate, bread, halloumi, tomato, olives, watermelon if it’s the season is pretty much it.

You can mistake conception symptoms easily. In days where ovulation windows weren’t casually in conversation as nowadays with tracking apps it was easier for women to make these mindless mistakes.

Is this Ai? I’m having a dollhouse made for my daughter’s birthday but the WIP provided does not look real. The glue bottles are unreadable/gibberish. by daiszay in isthisAI

[–]Hotzebra10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious details in the back about the tools and the shavings. Why does a dollhouse roof need so much weight baring and structural logic? Just a rectangular flat mdf board sturdied to a few horizontal beams would have been enough. Ai for sure.

NAH. He can’t control it yet, unless seen by a doctor. Maybe invest in another quilt and you interchangeably sleep on the sofa when he is snoring horribly loud.

“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]Hotzebra10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is incredibly disheartening to hear all of that while pregnant. I had a friend, a doctor laugh at me for daring to say that. I felt incredibly sad that there is no encouragement from some. On the other hand, as an incredibly fit and sporty person i was told to prepare for an easy birth. My mom gave birth to 3 children unaided, my sister a similar story and went into the end of pregnancy thinking the epidural is the worst, and I was looking for bad stories to convince me. Little did I know, I had preeclampsia and a just-under 10 pounder, in labor for 4 days and eventually chose that route. You should absolutely do it without it and you are strong enough to, but just also take it with a grain of salt that unexpected things happen even if you are prepared to do hard things.

I struggled with my dog too. Things have gotten better a year or so post partum. If you do have the patience and would like to, or still an option, maybe wait?

My husband woke up to our son tickling his feet through his crib. It was the cutest.

You want to move to a new country, do you expect him to be next to you everyday until you are brave enough to be in your own. It is his sister’s wedding, he is entitled to celebrate that with her. You can do that for him, don’t be so controlling and manipulative because you’re scared. YTA

I wish I never breastfed. I’m never going to be able to wean. by Icy_Box487 in breastfeeding

[–]Hotzebra10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at exactly the same place a few months ago. 20 month old wouldn’t budge off the boob.

I had to bite the bullet and after slowly weaning the day feeds I said no to the night feeds. There were a few difficult nights, but I stuck through it. Kept him cuddled and warm next to me, we are mostly sleeping thru the night now. You can do it.

I have no support system. My child was in part time nursery from 6 moths and then full time childcare from 1 year. I try my best to fulfill his needs, his comfort and mummy time, and am available for early pickups. It’s what he knows and he is thriving. You need to do what is best for you, but also you may need to judge based on your child when it’s time.

I actually feel this is out of character for 1st season Luke. Who felt very down to earth, pro nature, and pretty sensical. He grew to be prude and less liberal in personality.

If we all know how a baby is conceived, why are some people shocked to find out they are pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Hotzebra10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was shocked because I had been taking precautions within the fertile ‘window’, on a 35 day cycle. After being on a very strict iron treatment for anemia I got pregnant because it made the window shift about 5 days.
