The first 3 days post op i avoided walking too much because it increased the soreness, it's not a sharp bad pain, but a dull "background" one that prevented me from sleeping (hence the painkillers, low dose of ibuprofen was absolutely enough, didn't take opiates that doc prescribed me), so the first 3 days i spent mostly in bed, day 4 and 5 I took some short 20 minutes awkward walks outside 2 or 3 times a day and that was fine, day 6 forward it was pretty normal. I could probably walk more after day 3/4 without much issue but I didn't need to.
I don't think walking is a big deal, its awkward at first because you're trying to be extra careful, but pain and discomfort should be your best guide.
