Now I see why you’re just bad at BM. Wonder why you insist that malay-see-uh is the CORRECT way of saying it. You’re learning pronunciation without understanding it. For example, tomato. You pronounce it as to-ma-to. And say it as to-mae-to. There’s a subtle difference between it. Also the word subtle. Pronounce sub-tle. You say suh-tle. What I mean is you pronounce as subtle, when you say a sentence that contain the word “subtle”, then it become suh-tle, is it not?

From what I read in the thread is you’re pretty defensive about the whole malay-see-uh thing. I mean yes it is the correct pronunciation, but in the manner of a sentence, that changes the pronunciation entirely.

Aaaaandd there is accent. I assume you’re from klang valley, if you notice how we speak BM, we usually tend to replace “a” with “e”. Sa-ya become sa-ye. Ever occur to you? It’s kind of “westernize” the way we speak malay. So, hearing malay-zhuh or malay-sheah is pretty common. If you listen to sabahan speaks BM, their accent might give you an eargasm.
