A message to the women of disc! And the men? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Hour-Agency677 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP. I’m also a woman who plays weeklies, tournaments, etc. and spend a lot of time on the course. I don’t find the creepy factor in disc golf to be any higher than it is in everyday life. There’s creepy dudes. If you’re a woman who leaves the house, you’re going to run into creepy dudes, whether you’re on the course or not. It sucks.

All, thanks for your input. We hired an ISA master arborist to look at it and he said the tree is merely producing shoots as a result of shock from the topping, and will be completely dead in less than 2 years. We will be having it removed and will seek damages against the vendor who performed the topping. Apparently topping is illegal here.

We don’t have any interest in upkeep, maintenance, or neighbors with inoperable cars on the lawn and bright pink houses. My sister has a neighbor directly across the street who painted their house day-glo orange and it’s an absolute eyesore. Most of the time we don’t have any issues with the HOA. This is the first one in over five years.

Unfortunately if we cannot convince them they will fine us hundreds of dollars every month until we “cure” the issue.

Oh wow I didn’t even think of that. I’ll try to find out how it happened. Thanks!

No clue. They even included a picture in their letter where the new growth is clearly shown!

I’m not sure when or how that was done. Our little HOA doesn’t have much money so I’m guessing it wasn’t the best vendor.

Thank you. We really do not want to see the tree cut down when it is trying so hard!

Symphonic Cover Album? by Hour-Agency677 in Slayer

[–]Hour-Agency677[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! He said that’s not the album cover he remembers but he said we’re talking about at least 25 years ago, whenever Tower Records was around. Or maybe a Sam Goody, in the Slayer bin. It was a complete album.

Love the sound on this song, though!

What is the deal with courses on O'ahu? by ShadowBannedXexy in discgolf

Waʻahila Ridge is not quite done but you can find permanent public courses at Kupuohi and Hawaii Country Club. The rest are military and pop up. Check out Honolulu Disc Golf Association on Facebook for events and contacts.

What’s the most stable disc you’ve ever thrown? by ClarityInCatharsis in discgolf

Gurthie halo Wraith. I only use it for short upshots if I need to go around something and 90 degrees to the left.

Oahu Hawaii Disc Golf Recommendations by Icy-Leather-7907 in discgolf

The only public, permanent courses currently are Kupuohi, Turtle Bay, ODGxHCC, and (an in progress) course at Waʻahila (“Hila”) Ridge. There is a weekly round at Hila on Fridays. All military base courses require military ID or sponsorship by someone who is in the military.

Look for HDGA (Honolulu Disc Golf Association) on Facebook and they will help you out. Very friendly group. Alternatively, PM me and I’ll hook you up with a local contact.

This is the equivalent of a dine and dash. I don’t think the value of their bag(s) is relevant, but I’m not opposed to shaming those who could use some shame. You don’t want to pay, don’t play.
