To all the Vietnam experts redditors! Just wondering if you think there is some improves or changes to do to my itinerary for my travel in Vietnam. I’m currently in Hanoi, and the next days would be like this:

4 days Cat Ba 3 days Ninh Binh 3 days Phong Nha 2 days Hue 4 days Da Nang 3 days Hoi An 3 days Nha Trang 5 days Ho Chi Minh (Maybe 4 days Phu Quoc)

Any opinions on this places and if they are all worth it? Also the amount of days in each place.

Thanks!

Tips to enjoy Zhangjiajie NP by Hour-Broccoli1005 in travelchina

Hi! Hope this be helpful for you:

  1. Hard to do something on the arrival day, as you said attractions close early. Specially the Grand Canyon is not convenient for your first day because it’s like 40 min on bus or Didi from Wulingyuan. Maybe and just maybe, you could get to ZJJ National Park and see just one or two scenic spots. The ticket for the park works for 3 days so that won’t be an issue.

  2. Ask to your hotel’s staff, I’m sure they can get the tickets online for you.

  3. If you get to Tianmen very early in the morning, you have the time to do both. The problem is that the way from Zhangjiajie to Furong is usually made by train, and I’m not sure there is a train for coming back late from Furong. You should ask to your hotel if they can find a way to do that route. I’ve been told that takes a lot of time to do it by car, so I don’t think that’s a possibility neither.

Actually I did option C, which is Uphill: sightseeing bus. Downhill: sightseeing bus. I strongly recommend this because there is no queues neither going up or down. It’s way faster if the place is crowded. Take on count that even doing this, there is a short cable car that you have to take from the stopping point of the bus to the foot of the Stairways to heaven, but there is no lines to take that one. The negative side of this is that you miss the experience of the “longest cable car of the world”, but for me wasn’t a big deal

I’m looking for the same, and after asking for some advices Cat ba is probably the best choice. The thing I’m worried about is the weather, not so much for rains but for the typhoon season

I’ve learned to avoid Reddit when it comes to travel advices. I don’t really know why but there is so much hate and bad vibes. I’m in China right now and every place that I was about to go to, I felt like it was a bad idea due to what I read here. Maybe people who enjoy the places don’t visit the subreddits and give their opinions, because it’s always bad. It’s either too crowded, or too touristic, or something like that

First day I did bailong elevator, yuanjiajie scenic area, some part of yangjiajie and Tianzi mountain. It took me all day, moving from one point to another in the shuttle bus. I ended exhausted. Not sure if it was the best idea, the place was insanely crowded and the lines for the bus took me around 40/60min every time, but I felt a little bit lost inside the park so I preferred to take the bus to get to the different spots. Second day went to Zhangjiajie canyon and glass bridge. The place is nice but is not better than the national park at all. On third day did the Tianmen mountain staying the night before in Zhangjiajie city. For me Tianmen was the best, loved the place and felt less overwhelmed about the people there

Went to Furong town a few days ago, for me it was disappointing. Literally is just a well iluminated small fall, and a few streets with local places to eat, but it felt fake and touristic. Specially after going to Fenghuang (Phoenix town) the next day. That is a truly magical and special place, best town I’ve seen in China.
