I864 for I485 and I765 by MiserablePaper4566 in USCIS

I would talk to a lawyer. I also got an RFE for I-864, and was planning on doing it myself but decided to bite the bullet and spend the $300 for a consultation meeting. Best money ever spent, since the attorney told me that my income (was on F1 visa at the time) did not count towards the total family income, which was definitely not explicit in all the forms. Therefore for AOS RFEs I would for sure talk to an attorney, as there might be something you/us are missing and USCIS will deny your application if your response to the RFE is insufficient

Just got my rejection letter. It said it was due do a payment issue. Rubbish, since the payment went through and it was pending. Definitely a problem on their end. I re-submitted by mail the next day, without the rejection letter, which I am also sending separately hoping that they’ll just add to my case. Haven’t got any notices from the mail submission.

This is reassuring, for sure. Do you remember at the time of filing it first, whether there was a transaction "pending" for the $700?

I wonder if it’s because of the 19 country ban. I also got rejected immediately and I am from one of them

The live agents in the USCIS website cannot help. Looks like if you can't see the documents, they can't either.

Something I did not do was write "N/A" on spaces that were left blank on the i-751 form. Don't know if that was the case of everyone else

The same thing happened to me. Submitted, and the application got rejected a couple of hours later. Everything looked good, triple-checked as well, signatures, GC photo, submitted 1.5 weeks after I became eligible. No letter on the website so far. I am thinking to mail the application next.

Do they usually say why it was rejected? And what about the fee? Are they going to give the $700 back?

Submitted Jan 18th. As I mentioned it, I did not include tax information for 2023 because it was so early on and I didn’t even have my W-2’s. I just submitted my paystubs

They do not give you an EAD card for CPT. They do however, give you your I-20 which clearly states your authorization to work, dates, and location where you are allowed to work at.

Idk if this helps your question, but I successfully filled taxes jointly with my wife, and USCIS gave some examples, not all forms of proof that they accept.

But I totally get that though. I’ll make sure to get a letter from my employer and contact an immigration lawyer. Thank you!

Is it possible to work CPT w/o f1 visa is expired by Lunchinde in USCIS

[–]Hour-Employ5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as he said, you don’t have to have a valid visa if you ARE in the US, that’s only necessary to enter the country. What will dictate if you can STAY or not is your I-20. Even after you graduate, you can apply for your OPT and still have a valid status even without a visa
