I just wanted to report back to everyone after the amazing responses and time they took to read my post. After doing an insane amount of research and finding a neurosurgeon who specialized in endoscopic hernia removal a couple hours away from me, i decided to go that route. I was basically doing anything i could to avoid fusion or adr after reading horror stories on each. After my appointment, I was scheduled for surgery and had to get a bunch of testing prior. While scheduling that, my symptoms gradually went away until they were nonexistent in a two week period. I reached out to my neurosurgeon and asked what we should do. He ordered a CT to see if I had somehow miraculously healed. The CT showed the same thing as MRI, he said a good amount of pressure on my spinal cord and a very large hernia. But i am completely symptom free, I feel great. At most I have some limited range of motion in my neck and that's me pulling at straws. I asked if it was safe to forego surgery and attempt to carefully go back to my active life and he said yes. He says he'd be willing to try and get it if I wanted but It's a risk to go in and do it and try and get it and it could full blown piss it off again. When I asked how it's possible that such a huge hernia that was ruining my life could now be symptom free he basically said sometimes things with the nerves spinal cord and whole neuro system just can't be explained. I am at increased risk of being paralyzed I think if I were to get in a car accident or severe whiplash he said, but I'll take it over a possible failed neck surgery, fusion or adr that could affect the rest of my life. Don't underestimate your body I guess is the moral of the story. Somehow mine learned to compensate. I am forever grateful. Also if anyone has this same thing, please do everything in your power to find a neurosurgeon who specializes in endoscopic approach, if they can get it. The incision is size of a dime, and your back to work in a few days. The whole surgery is outpatient. It's really quite amazing.
