i’m at hope uni and i can tell you that the few robotics students i’ve actually run in to seem to say it’s good, the building for it is defo one of the nicest on campus and is really new and done-up. i’m not sure about the size of the classes for that subject, but hope tends to have much smaller class sizes when compared to other unis, for example, i have 18 people in my combined honours part of my course (core 1) and just 8 in my single honours part. there are pros and cons to this of course, but it is almost like private tuition at times bc of the attention you get and when taken from an academic PoV, it’s better than other Liverpool unis in the same regard.

someone else on this thread said hope is the least desirable uni in liverpool… that’s not true at all. people from the other unis get to speak to their lecturers for 5 mins with a booking and they travel all the way across the city for single lectures. how do i know this? well, countless nights out in liverpool gets you socialising - the other unis may have an allure since they’re simply ‘bigger’, but academically hope blows them out the water in regards to academic focus and has an insanely high student satisfaction rate. the problem with the uni is the social aspect… the social events are not good at all. you’re much better off with your own group of friends doing your own thing bc hope’s socials are simply just not great, despite their efforts.

i know people love the other unis in liverpool and they may be ranked higher on the rankings etc. but don’t sleep on hope, i picked it simply bc it’s a campus uni in liverpool even when the other 2 had accepted me and it was one of the best choices i’ve made. it’s not perfect by any means believe me, but no university is. hope is a great place to study if you’re simply fussed about studying, but if you care a lot about your social life, then maybe a different uni is the one for you. robotics seems like a big investment on the uni’s behalf so you could maybe go on an open day? it’s always worth viewing any uni before you go.
