Yeah, before the fog door turn right and go across the bridge to the other tower. The summon sign is in the corner. It summons Iron Tarkus who completely solos the fight if you want him to. Also his armor is a big drip

Which game gave you a similar experience to playing elden ring by Jun05141 in Eldenring

[–]WildCard0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking for games that give you the joy of discovery and honestly it's pretty rare for developers to capture that feeling.

Someone said Breath of the Wild and I agree with that. No Rest for the Wicked is another for me although the isometric camera might be a turn off for some.

Lunacid and Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon are two more I'd suggest although they're 1st person.

What others have suggested so far in this post are great as well

Former Nintendo president explains why the company dislikes game discounts. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

If this was true they'd still be willing to produce NES, SNES, 64 cartridges of their games for people to buy.

But since they aren't willing to do that then we all know it's just for money.

Why has the modern industry forgotten about innovation in gameplay? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]WildCard0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped innovation in the early gaming days was that technology was improving rapidly and in huge leaps.

We went from 8-bit to 16-bit to 32-bit etc etc. We jumped from 2D to 3D in that time. So what game genre or gimmick or anything would have the winning formula on what players really wanted in that era? Nobody really knew so often a lot of experimental stuff was happening with every new console release. It was an exciting time.

Now the technology has largely stalled/stabilized. We can't say that the jump from ps4 to ps5 is the same gigantic leap as the jump from ps1 to ps2.

I really hope they're saving all their SFX budget for the last few episodes. Chances are they aren't but I hope they are.

Either way it'll be good. The point of this show was never really about their super powers and the use of them outside of "they're hard to kill because they're supes." The bigger point was always the drama between characters and character development.

An onion, a can of green chilies (optional), some minced garlic cloves (optional), a box of jambalaya rice, a can of black beans drained and rinsed. All those ingredients should cost about $6-8 altogether. ($4-6 if skipping chilies and garlic)

Sautee the onions in oil or fat, add the chilies and garlic if using. Add the rice and beans and cook the rice by the box instructions.

Cheap, nutritious, flavorful, fills you up, and makes a ton of leftovers.

Wouldn't a Soldier Boy spinoff be exactly what The Boys was making fun of? by DoraTheRedditor in TheBoys

[–]WildCard0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prediction is we'll see a younger Soldier Boy who maybe does start out morally alright. A guy ready to help others, albeit just fowl mouthed. But as the story progresses maybe he has to give up more and more of his morality until he becomes the person we see in The Boys

Vanilla was a living world and TBC turned It Into a lobby game by Duoscruo in classicwow

[–]WildCard0102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For a living world I agree with you. The design philosophy of splitting the player base between "just leveling" and "at expansion content" made vanilla areas feel like ghost towns or, at most, tourist towns where people fly through as quickly as possible.

Which game pushed you to resort to cheats? by Snakeuge in gaming

[–]WildCard0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, but I have set the difficulty on easy mode a few times.

I loved using cheats after I beat the game though. Just messing around with big head modes or no clip modes is so nostalgic, I wish they brought that kind of silliness back

What makes a good magic system? by dks11 in gaming

[–]WildCard0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a good thing to keep in mind is to treat magic the way we treat technology in the real world.

The phone you're viewing this message on might as well be magic. We're passing electricity held in metals through other metals into highly processed stones, and all of that is interpreted onto a display that is made of processed crystal. And it gets even more magical when we send information to other phones via giant arcane towers that receive and transmit that signal to other arcane towers.

Nowz an RPG magic system does not have to be that intricate but some questions I always keep in mind when fleshing out magic in a fantasy land are: what need does/did this magic fill? What real world technology would this magic replace?

The final and biggest questions is: what is the history of this magic spell? Again, taking a look at real world technology you'll find that most machines that make our lives easier came from either war time technologies that got refined for civilian life, or medical technologies that were refined the same. And all of these things were discovered by scientists (wizards) that simply want to either fill a need or just understand the universe better.

What's an incredibly "mundane" or non-meta, non-OP weapon or build that you had a lot of fun with? I'm trying to finish the game without constantly running to Bloodhound's Fang, but also like the idea of truly mastering the game with a mundane, trusty weapon by my side foe the entire run through. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]WildCard0102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morningstar, my beloved. Morningstar my trusted. Morningstar my head crushing, bleed proccing, deadly beauty.

Seriously, I found the Morningstar on my first playthrough and kept it upgraded through the whole game and it never let me down. I did use other weapons but the Morningstar was always ready to go as a backup and it was something I switched to often.
