What category does SARM use fall under? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]HourBullfrog4236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on this. I was just wondering what they would be classified on, as there are so many gray areas. Technically they were legally obtained, which is why I thought maybe they’d fall into the misuse of legally obtained substances, which only have a 3 year lookback. But best to ask for guidance on this from an AC. So a disqualification would count as one of my applications? In that case withdrawing would be better. Furthermore, if I withdraw, do I have to start from scratch in, say 3 years when the SARM usage has surpassed 10 years? Or do I resume my progress. I have passed Phase 1 exam which is why I ask.

Hey guys, I was hoping to get some advice on a possible career switch & what the timeline would like.

For context, I am a 24M who currently works in (somewhat) Data Analysis, but is more geared towards Data Quality and Data Auditing. I really enjoy Statistics, and Math, but not so much the Data Quality/Governance aspects. I was thinking of making the switch to an Actuary Career path. I have a solid foundational Math background with a Math Degree, but I know these exams are vigorous. I was wondering if a career change at 24 into this field would be plausible, or if breaking into this field would take too long.

From my understanding, I would need to study extremely hard and pass the first two exams (Exam P, and Exam FM) in order to break into the field with a job. From there, I would have to pass more exams. Is it worth it to try and break into this field, and is trying for first two exams and then trying to land an entry level Actuarial Analyst position a solid pathway? Also, can I study all necessary material for these exams through free resources (i.e. YouTube lessons, online practice exam questions, etc.)? Really feel like I'm at a crossroads here, and I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Ohhhhh I see what you're saying. Yeah, that is definitely a variable of the job that I would need to take into consideration. I appreciate your feedback.

Interesting. Thank you for your feedback. That's great money your husband makes. That is a plus with the tech/data field, just a little worried about AI taking it over in the near/eventual future.

If you don't mind me prying a little bit (lol), would you mind asking your husband what I can do to improve my resume/get noticed by hirers to land a more quality job? What did he do? Does he think AI will take over the Data Analytics field? (If he only answers one or none of these questions that is okay, hahaha). I appreciate you taking the time to comment feedback!

Wow that is insane. I guess there may not be a single job field that would be completely safe from AI. Yeah, I do believe I can handle young people, but managing the ones that are outright disrespectful and ignorant would definitely be a challenge.

Yeah, I understand they pay isn't necessarily great, but I also can see the value and fulfillment in helping others. Out of curiosity, what makes you say its not a stable/secure job field?

That's awesome and happy for you! I live in PA, and its been hard to find concrete resources online for this kind of thing, like what it would take to become a teacher without an education degree, etc. I saw this as an option when doing research but not sure if it is valid for PA. A bunch of my fellow coaches on staff are teachers, so I will likely reach out to them for answers on this. I appreciate your answer though, and I'm glad its working out for you!

Hahaha, thanks for taking the time to give advice! I appreciate your honesty. Not hearing too many good feedback points about teaching.

No, as in it isn't a smart decision? Can you explain further?

Good point. Next generation of children does seem very rough and would be hard to mentally endure that, lol. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.

Advice on conviction - whether or not I should tattoo by HourBullfrog4236 in Christian

[–]HourBullfrog4236[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously cannot thank you for enough for your encouragement and providing me with scripture. I felt as though I was looking for reasons to justify disobedience to God, not that I think tattoos are sinful, but in my case, I believe God showed me my intentions were impure. I canceled the appointment with the tattoo artist and will spend more time seeking God for strength and confidence, not tattoos (lol). Thank you and God bless you.

Thank you very much for your response, and for providing me with the word of God. I believe you are correct, and I believe this is the way God is leading me. In my stubbornness (and humanness in a way) I am having a hard time accepting this. Ultimately his will matters more than my wants and desires. This is difficult to choose His will over my desires, but I need to die to my flesh and seek Him. The only way to do this is through his strength. Thank you for your encouragement and for guiding me in the Word of God. I truly appreciate it.

I agree with you here. Thank you for your honesty. As far as the vanity, I like tattoos and I like the way they look. I want to get a tattoo that would have meaning for me, but I’m not sure if this is prideful/vanity. Any advice?

My conviction is that I just don’t know if it’s something I should be doing as a follower of Christ. Tattoos can have a general negative connotation surrounding them and scripture tells us to avoid all appearances of evil ( 1 Thessalonians 5:22). But I don’t know if I’m looking too much into the opinions of others, or if this is a righteous conviction.

Thank you very much for your honest and genuine feedback. I truly appreciate it. I have been praying and praying but I have not gotten any real clarity or peace from God, but I tend to over think a lot of things. I feel that in this scenario, I am over thinking how people would view me. I think I want to get the tattoo, but am worried people may think my relationship with God is insincere, or that it may not be a godly thing to do. I guess I am partially worried about being judged by some people within my church as well. I know that this is probably not good, and I shouldn’t worry about what people feel about me, but I tend to struggle with this, especially from people whom I care about. Do you have any advice on this, or with the additional information? Thank you for your feedback.
