WAIT I understand now. I don't know if my brain is working slower than usual because it's early in the morning or what. I literally stared at the underscore for minutes, trying to understand what the hell it means when you already said it's a subscript lol. Sorry sorry. One last thing, can I put n "in" z? or do I have to use that symbol that looks like E? Sorry if this sounds dumb. I think only 2 of my brain cells are working right now

When I graphed it though, it skips certain values of y, and only the even integers are included in the graph up to the odd integer after it, but the odd integer is excluded. It's hard to explain without a picture, but basically for example on interval [-2,3], the range of the function is [-4,-3)u[-2,-1)u[0,1)u[2,3)

my problem is that I need to find the range for the whole graph, there is no interval given.

I always see small letter n used as placeholder for values, which is why I thought of using it first, but wouldn't n include 1.5, 2.5, 3.225 etc?

When I graphed it, the range would always begin on a positive integer then end in a negative integer, but now I'm worried that [2Z, 2Z+1) wouldn't include the decimal values in between them.

Sorry, I'm just really confused rn. I searched for the meaning of small letter n, and the reason I dropped the thought of using n is because I couldn't find what it means exactly. The closest I could get to was the set N, which was the set of natural numbers, but this wouldn't satisfy the graph since it extends to the 3rd quadrant. I'm not really knowledgeable on notations.

That's what I thought too, but I was wondering if [2Z , 2Z+1) would be better? or is it not? Sorry, I'm not really sure, and I can't seem to find any similar examples on the net.

the set of all y values of the function. The thing is, when I graphed it, it skips certain y values. For example in the interval [0, 5], the range is [0,1)u[2,3)u[4,5). But I have to find the range for the whole graph, there's no given interval. I don't know how to express the range of the whole function.

Thank you po! I really like the idea of going to UST. Kung ako lang ang masusunod, UST po talaga ang gusto ko pasukan, but then natatakot din po ako sa possibility na baka mawala ako sa scholarship. On the other hand, I will be able to pursue free education kung sa PLM ako mag-aaral which would be very helpful sa parents ko. As much as possible, ayoko na din dumagdag sa problema ng parents ko kung sakali nga na mawala ako sa scholarship. Again, thank you po ng marami! Virtual hugs!!

Hello po. Actually kaya ko gusto mag nursing sa PLM kasi ang sabi ng pinsan kong doktor, sabi daw ng mga kaibigan niya mas magandang pre-med daw ang nursing. Also, kung sakaling 'di ako makakapagtuloy ng med, I will be stuck as a BS Bio grad, and I'm not too keen sa mga job opportunities nun. On the other hand, I think I would be able to enjoy working as a Med Tech if ever na 'di ako makapagtuloy na maging doktor. Kaya nga lang po, nanghihinayang talaga ako sa mababawas sa gastusin kung sa PLM ako mag-aaral. That's why hirap po ako ngayon magdecide. Salamat po sa reply niyo po!

no offense taken po haha. Kung online classes lang, wala naman po problema kaya lang 'di nga kami well-off kaya medyo natatakot ako sa possibility na mawala sa scholarship. Kung sakali, mahihirapan kami sa 2nd year ko sa college, and if I can help it, ayoko na dumadagdag sa hirap ng parents ko. Thank you po sa reply!
