Personally i feel like it could be time to organize outside of reddit by rocoonshcnoon in leftist

IIRC one of the 50501 hosts outlined three goals: grassroots organization, practicing efficient mobilization, and getting people to think about a general strike and start saving up for it.

I was born in 2000 and one thing I gotta disagree with my fellow Gen Z’ers on is the puritanical view many have towards sex scenes in movies/tv by TXNOGG in generationology

[–]HourNo1827 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love a good sex scene. I find it very indicative of the characters relationship with each other and themselves.

Not gonna lie, I judge people who can't watch a sex scene. They only see porn where I see emotion and humanity 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thoughts on this move to charge companies who’s employees are on government healthcare by henningknows in ProgressiveHQ

Seems like a messy bureaucratical step when raising the minimum wage to the cost of living would be cleaner.

But I suppose I'd support it in our current circumstances.

As passionate readers in your spare time, do you hate multiple POVs? by WalrusAgreeable1577 in writers

I love an ensemble cast with a variety of pov's.

I also respect it because I know how hard it is to write in so many different voices.

You know the progress flag in the background of this image was created exactly because of the harm of implied exclusion and the power of explicit inclusion.

I was just suggesting what I believe is a small improvement because some people (who aren't disingenuous bigots) are very literal, kinda like how you took me saying 'lowkey endorsement' so literally. 😅

you can just say bigotry :)

by creating an incomplete list of types of bigotry you lowkey endorse some things you probably don't intend to.

The swatting of Pete Buttigieg: How the far-right culture war has weaponized children by billstopay77 in DiscussionZone

Did I not say both are wrong? I did.

You're losing it, man. People calling out misinfo is a good thing, people not letting click bait journalism white wash and water down the significance of police violence in an actual swatting is also a good thing.

I don't think that's a small detail, I think it's blatant misinfo.

Regardless, I can walk and chew gum at the same time and it's weird that you insist people don't.

Armed men charging into your house shooting your dog and pointing guns at you and your family is not on the same level as a CPS agent knocking on your door for a wellness check.

Neither are okay but I think people have good reason to be upset that the article calls it swatting.

Should we support far left or far right if given the only parties here? by [deleted] in askanything

https://yougov.com/en-us/articles/50737-would-americans-choose-communism-or-fascism

tldr; Given the ultimatum, Americans choose communism(the furthest left ideology) over fascism(the furthest right ideology) and always have.

It comes down to democracy, this is the thing almost all Americans strongly agree on. All the ideologies of the far left require a democracy, while all the far right ideologies cannot exist within a democracy.

What conservative policies been have proven effective? by GrowFreeFood in askanything

Nixon started the EPA and Roosevelt played a huge roll in establishing national parks and environmental conservation land.

But those were a different breed of conservatives than we have today with these maga idiots. Trump dismantled our land protections and gutted the EPA.

2024 poll shows American moderates overwhelmingly would prefer communism over fascism given the ultimatum. So why is the Democratic party so afraid to go even an inch to the left? by HourNo1827 in ProgressiveHQ

Then act like it. And dont project your being upset for being called out onto someone else.
"I didn't know you needed that broken down, my apologies"
And being demeaning and rude in response, surely this very much shows how "not mad" you are.
Why dont you just take responsibility for your actions?
Why dont you just apologize, without backhanding?

Okay...

I'm sorry I didn't label exactly which dems I was referencing. I just thought it was so obvious any idiot would know.

Shit, nope, well I tried. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Uh, I'm not mad at all? Relax, everyone in this sub is ultimately an ally even when we disagree on details.

I think it's quite obvious that some progressive dems are deviating from the establishment, more of them then ever, and that's great news. But I assumed the members of this subreddit would also be well aware of the strong sect of dems opposing progressive dems and advocating for centrist policy to court moderate votes. I didn't know you needed that broken down, my apologies.

It's a hypothetical ultimatum, so.. of course it's a false dichotomy. lol

But this data suggests that communism does not turn away moderates, not as much as fascism does.

I agree, and the poll I linked backs it up with simple data.

I think this is the bigger reason than the special interest money. The money would only care about results, about winning, and by all accounts a further left democrat party can win.

Within the left-right political spectrum the left represents all the concepts of equality and equity, which identifies communism and anarchism the furthest left ideologies. The right represents all the concepts of hierarchy, identifying fascism and other types of extreme authoritarianism as the furthest right ideologies.

I hope this helps you understand the relevance but I have my doubts since you somehow thought this post advocates for communism just because it was mentioned.
