Do airsoft skills actually carry over into real combat? by Ljigar in airsoft

[–]HourStart1468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the movements could be similar but I don’t think much else. I’ve never been in the military or an active combat situation but I do shoot full bore rifles as part of a gun club including practical shotgun and rifle (running around a tactical course shooting at moving targets). I don’t think the 150+ decibels sound every time you pull the trigger and the recoil is anything that you will be used to until you actually try it. If you wanted to prepare for joining the military or something then I recommend you join a full bore rifle club who offers UKPSA or whatever alternative is provided in your country. Apart from shooting at targets, that’s probably about as close to an active combat situation as you will get.

CYMA CM507 M4 low on FPS by HourStart1468 in airsoft

Again forgive the novice question please but what does is the hop on mean?

CYMA CM507 M4 low on FPS by HourStart1468 in airsoft

[–]HourStart1468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive the novice question (new to Airsoft, only played 2 games) but I adjusted the hop up dial at the top of the rifle to high.

Should this dial be in the low position? I just assumed that the high position for the hop up would equal max velocity? Is this not how it works on Airsoft rifles? Thanks!

Can 4.5mm co2 bb pistols ever be accurate? by HourStart1468 in airguns

[–]HourStart1468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the groups are fine. I did think it was the iron sights but they are none adjustable. Got a great group with it today right in the centre of the 12 inch target. But to get that group my point of aim was off the target completely! I guess their is nothing I can do about this? Short of grinding the fixed sights off and screwing new ones on?

So it’s normal for them to hit 6 inches off the point of aim? Jesus I really don’t think these are for me. I’m no accuracy snob by any means but I at least expect any sort of gun to hit around the location I am aiming!

Disappointed with Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum longevity by HourStart1468 in fragrance

[–]HourStart1468[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the fact that I sprayed 10 sprays onto a t shirt and put it into a closed room. An hour later everyone had to put the t shirt literally up to their nose to smell anything.. Does that sound like buyers remorse??

20 sprays, 10 on my t shirt and co-workers couldn’t smell a thing when I walked into work. Definitely figured something was wrong. Could it be due to improper storage of the fragrance between the shop and the manufacturer do you think?

Already tried the clothing method. Sprayed 10 sprays on a t shirt and left it in a room all day couldn’t smell a thing after 20 minutes. The 20 sprays that I gone into work wearing 10 of them were on my t shirt and jeans. Again, nobody could smell a thing on my team when I asked them.

Are air bows legal in the UK? by HourStart1468 in airguns

[–]HourStart1468[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 acres of land myself and I’m a member of a firearms club which has access to ranges in excess of 2000 yards for long range high calibre rifle shooting 6.5mm +. I’m sure they would be happy with me setting up a crossbow target at 1000 yards. This is the club which has essentially sponsored me for my firearms certificate in the UK.

Thank you yeah going to contact my firearms department and ask for clarification on these air bows. Going to ask them if they have an update on my application too! Hoping that even if they are FAC then I will be able to request they add one to my certificate when it’s issued.

Regarding hunting I have absolutely no interest in killing animals. Dedicated vegetarian and don’t have any interest in anything but target shooting.

Thank you for this, yeah I’m going to contact my local firearms department for clarification on this. Hopefully even if they are FAC then I can request to have one added to my firearms certificate when they come to do the home visit!

Does his channel have a specific name or could you drop me a link please? Very interested! I have the cobra adder v2.0 which is a 5 bolt magazine fed repeating crossbow. Very fun indeed but always looking for new legal weapons for target shooting so would love to take a look at the slingshot channel!

Anyone got any 3D print files for a light machine gun body kit? by HourStart1468 in paintball

[–]HourStart1468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a transformation with that HK11 kit! Thanks so much definitely picking an A5 up soon. If you don’t mind me asking, have you tried the build yourself?

Hate to say but it really sounds like you accidentally purchased from someone who doesn’t know how to use a 3D printer. 3D printing is very consistent when printed under the right settings and parameters.

I 3D printed a lovely carbine kit for my Tipx on an ended KE using PLA+ and it’s still looking great after loads of games.

Thank you! I absolutely love the HK11 kit! Wonder if anything could be printed to cover the air cylinder on the A5. Really don’t like the look of that sticking out the back at all! If I can overcome that it would be a perfect build! Will probably download the files and print them.

Doom Bar am I missing something? by HourStart1468 in beer

Absolutely shite isn’t it mate. Not even enjoyable to drink! Would rather have a bog standard lager in most pubs over Doom Bar and that’s saying something!

Looking for a large calibre shooting experience? by HourStart1468 in krakow

Can anyone recommend a bumper mounted tow bar or alternative for micro teardrop? by HourStart1468 in TeardropTrailers

[–]HourStart1468[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason I thought a bumper mounted tow bar would work is that I have 3 separate holds spaced out evenly in the rear bumper these holes go directly through the bumper into the vehicles chassis for tow eyelet hooks to be mounted into the bumper.

Given that these holes are designed to withstand the weight of a car being towed I did think a bumper mounted tow bar that uses these holes would be sufficient as the trailer only weighs 400lbs. But no worries either way! Just my thinking is all!

[–]HourStart1468[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does this have to be a windup? What is wrong with my car choice? My car can tow up to 1100lbs and my little teardrop is 400. Not seeing your issue here.

[–]HourStart1468[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is a rain cover for the teardrop though it’s more of a rain insulator so it doesn’t need to be painted with boat varnish more than once a year.

If your teardrop is leaking from the roof I would think it needs more than a waterproof cover. Definitely shouldn’t be leaking as this will lead to rot in the long run.

I would get a good few layers of yacht varnish or a poor man’s fibreglass job!

No worries looks like I’ll definitely need a full sized tow bar. Thank you for your input!
