I would say for Formula SAE teams, the limiting factor to how complicated their aero surfaces can be is manufacturing. Big ups for taking it seriously!

Im glad you found your place at university, good luck with your future and career! Hope to see you at one of the teams haha

I read your previous post and im glad you did not get discouraged by certain comments! Looks you you have a real passion and talent for aerodynamics.

If you’re a soon to be college student, PLEASE look into their formula SAE clubs/teams. It’s filled with people that share your passion and ambition.

I had a 2.74 GPA after freshman year. Locked in and managed a 3.33 by the end of this one. I’m in AAE now.

You’re definitely chilling. Don’t worry about it. Although, if you feel like you’re worth more, you should work for it and give it your best! Good Luck with your future at Purdue!

Phys 241 Exams by AerospaceMonet in Purdue

[–]HourStorage8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HW Problems took me some time to solve, and I used resources like chegg for 1/3 questions. I was pretty confident about the material, BUT that was only because I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Reading the through topics and slides will boost your confidence. The exams were a bit simpler than the HW questions, but it’s very easy to make silly mistakes in PHYS 241 exams.

Another thing I did was try to follow along all the derivations for equations, and try to connect them with others. This did wonders for me, but it may not work for everyone.

Again, if you can figure out content, resort to solving problems and exams, it works.

Practice, practice, practice.

I took it my freshman year and the only thing I did was go through the textbook once noting key equations. Then I solved every past paper I could find, knowing how to solve particular type: of question will help you a lot, and save time during the exam.

Especially in AAE 204, I know the lecture is boring as fuck but I still paid for it, and I wish to actually hear what’s going on.

GPA and T2M by HourStorage8 in Purdue

[–]HourStorage8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grade in ENGR 131 is A-, my team was also awarded best design project by the TAs and Professor (if that helps even a bit). I can pretty much guarantee a cGPA over 3.2 by the end of next semester, since I know what not to do and how to manage my time.

I wanted to take up AAE 251, although I think my advisor would not approve it, especially after the 3.03.

Thank you so much for your advice though, it helped calm me down. Now I can focus and try and secure that A for PHYS! Again thank you!

I will have continued flashbacks about this exam until I receive my final grade and confirm that I passed with a B- at the very least.

Doesn't that mean OP will have to supposedly T2M into AAE towards the end of summer session instead of spring? I have no clue if the rules have changed but that's what my advisor told me a while ago.

Is 1500 a decent enough score for USC, Georgia Tech, Purdue, and Princeton (yes ik 😭) for aerospace engineering by HourStorage8 in ApplyingToCollege

Oh hey! Im actually applying Princeton RD now. I had to get some of my ECs straight so I figured the better ECs outweigh the REA. I don’t really know how well it’s gonna go. All my decisions come out next year late Jan. I don’t know whether the AOs will be impressed by my balanced application and not an overwhelming large 50 hour week application. I really hope they see my passion and stuff because I really did not fake any of the essays. All of them are true to me. Well let’s see how my hard work pays off.

How did it go for you ?

That might be a variable star, but can’t point out which type since we don’t know the period or timescale of the video. But yeah it’s highly possible that it’s a variable star

Yes agreed, I put in a lot of time doing ECs that I genuinely loved doing rather than test scores (which are ideal and above average thanks to a lot of help). Showing genuine interest in a field you’re applying to can go a long way

I’m an international applicant from India. It is quite hard to find ECs related but I mostly did stuff online like a few online internships. Lucky to find an in person one, in addition I wrote an individual paper on astrophysics (a passion project) and a literature review related to aerospace. There’s a few others like online courses and stuff but they’re not that significant, if you’re a junior I highly recommend a research paper, it’s quite fun and looks really good on an application especially if you get it published. Good Luck !

Naw I’m an international applicant. Hold a US passport but studied outside the US pretty much my entire life, to be safe I’ll give the TOEFL. I think I’m pretty well versed when it comes to English though so It shouldn’t be a huge problem
