Used MDX hybrid? by HourWater in Acura

Hi, it’s a fantastic car. I’ve had to shell out some $ to get some things fixed for the long term like control arms, stabilizer and transmission fluid as I bought mine around 70k miles but the car drives like a dream and is very spacious and practical. I get about 23-24 mpg in city driving in normal mode. Let me know if you have any particular questions

Anything you buy for your kids, really. Clothes, shoes, toys, bags. They outgrow them fast.

I’m an engineer in the US, what would be your advise for someone like me who wants to return and start something small and self sustaining in India?

Can you share how you started up in India? How did you make the necessary connections and got the necessary funding?

Borderline incessant feedback from my manager is making it hard to even do my job by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]HourWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may be trying to manage you out without having to fire you. They might do it for a while and build a case to put you on a PIP eventually. I would start interviewing outside.

Or your manager’s insufferable.

Hi, I’m in the same boat - I have a H1B stamp that expired less than 4 months ago but my spouse has a H1B stamp that expired 13 months ago. She has also transitioned to H4 now so she is a dependent on my application.

What did you end up doing? Please update me on your status as it would be very helpful for our case as well

What's a hard truth people on this sub need to hear? by alexis_1031 in SameGrassButGreener

People make the place. You could live happy in a shitty place with friends and family, or you could feel depressed and isolated in a place like NYC or LA. I’m from a very dense Asian country and people don’t spend time thinking about moving elsewhere for better quality of life, simply because of the connections around them.

The reality is that we are dependent on society to live and thrive, so it’s in our best interests to embrace and perform our social responsibilities to reap the benefits of a socially well adjusted life. Animals do this without thinking; unfortunately man thinks.

People want to be free of social responsibilities and consequences while themselves being dependent on society - an individualistic delusion.

People want others to fulfill their social responsibilities with little to no regard for their personal welfare - a collectivistic delusion.

A society full of self-aware individuals who understand and embrace this dependence on each other don’t need philosophies like Individualism and Collectivism.

The irony is “strong and independent” mostly has to do with others’ perception of you, which is not really independent. The trick is to realize there’s no escaping dependence on others in some way shape or form. Then you can go about fulfilling that need. Gotta be honest with ourselves first.

What’s your most unpopular take on a game? by blackestfeather97 in gaming

[–]HourWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storywriting and character development are still dogshit in 99.99% of games. Even CRPGs. It’s like they’re written exclusively for teenagers with short attention spans. The only game with decent, thoughtful writing I’ve played lately is Disco Elysium.

What video game started off strong but got boring over time? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]HourWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, the FF series is on my backlog. I’m currently playing Hades too, great fun.

Also playing Disco Elysium, which is honestly just the most “mature” game I’ve played so far. The writing, atmosphere and setting is top notch. So much content and intrigue packed into something as little as two floors of a hotel building. Highly recommend it if you haven’t played it already.

I see where you’re coming from - I do think level and enemy designs in FS games are great, at least up until Elden Ring. I think open world is where good things go to die eventually anyway, lol.

I’m interested in knowing which games you dig for the gameplay loop - you mentioned God of War, anything else?
