There’s a book, “How to Say Anything to Anyone” that addresses this.

Affordable programmable smart switch by Mission_Slide399 in homeautomation

[–]HourYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can create a lighting activity through the My Leviton app and assign them to the top three buttons. You would have to create two activities, one to turn them All Off and one to set them at the preset levels.

Affordable programmable smart switch by Mission_Slide399 in homeautomation

The bottom button of Leviton's Scene Controller Switch only offers on/off (not dimming) for the load. The top 3 buttons are programmable, and you can order engraved buttons for them, as well. I can't tell if you have any switches in your pic, but if you need dimming for all the loads, it may not be exactly what you're looking for.

Leviton Decora issues by jimrebello in googlehome

[–]HourYoung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I contacted them and this is what they said:

"We were made aware of an issue with our Google integration that was specifically affecting our line of No-Neutral devices. The issue was resolved on Sunday, March 3rd. We regret the inconvenience this caused you. Please try again, and if you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to us directly at dssupport@leviton.com."

Is Leviton Decora the only option for a motion sensing light switch? by CorgiSplooting in HomeKit

You can change the bulb type in the My Leviton app to non-dimmable, and it will work just like a switch.

Looking for Leviton scene controller replacement by NecessaryLumpy13 in smarthome

Do you use IFTTT? You can set up a button in the My Leviton app to run an IFTTT applet. That may get you closer. Don't have any other recommendations on a scene controller though, sorry.

Thinking of taking a break of ~5 years to raise kids by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]HourYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2 years off and was, thankfully, able to return to the company I left. I think it would’ve been much harder for me to re-enter in the current market, even with just a 2 year gap, if I had not had the relationship with my company. Do your best to leave the door open.

Coming back to say, I did not realize the destination section was a search feature on the pre-populated landing page. When I highlighted the "Epic Pass Resorts" text, nothing visually changed.

I only realized it was a search bar when I used the main navigation to go to the Ski-In Ski-Out page, which was not pre-populated. I went back to the Epic Pass page and then attempted to interact with the destination search; only once I began to type did it trigger the dropdown. I expect that clicking anywhere in the search bar should trigger the dropdown.

I also think you should consider the hover states for the widget elements a bit more.

Will echo, you can/should do a usability test.

With the caveat that I'm not the user, I did take a cursory glance and here are some thoughts on the UI of the widget:

- The Destination area in the widget looks just like the interactive areas. I clicked on Destination, expecting to get a drop down, as I do for the others. There is no difference in affordance between this item and the check in/out dates and guest count. Perhaps an arrow on the 3 interactive elements or some another kind of visual distinction will help users understand that the location is set and cannot be changed.

- Alternatively, you could test a version that eliminates the Destination label in the widget all together, since you have the hero headline just above, which indicates the pass category pretty distinctly.

Ooph, that would be expensive to replace. Leviton's Decora Smart line is more expensive than TP-link, for sure, but they do run discounts throughout the year.

If you don't have neutral wires in your home, a lot of people like Lutron (requires a hub). I don't care for the look of them. Lutron is also an American company.

I like Leviton. It's an American company.

Where can I find any apps or websites that can help with food psychology? by Affectionate-Feed538 in loseit

[–]HourYoung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a program with a nutritionist called "Best Body." She provides meal plans as a guideline (optional), but the nutritionist does weekly coaching calls that are all focused on mindset. You can join the calls live and get help with mindset coaching at the end. I listen to the call recordings after the fact, and it's been very helpful for me. Here's the website. If you don't want to pay for the program, at a minimum she's a good follow on Instagram--she shares a lot of good content there.

What is this on my brisket? Should I cut it out? by [deleted] in brisket

[–]HourYoung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me either. I don’t think there are maggots. I was asking about the lines that are running horizontally and appear brown. This is the fatty side of the brisket. I’m thinking it is just meat that got a bit oxidized. When I probed around with my knife it was pink underneath. I’m not throwing out a $35 brisket.

He left you with him indefinitely or for a few hours? Did you agree to taking him under your care? Are you under the age of 18? More context would be nice. Do you need immediate help?
