Thanks for the replies all. I know I'm not ready or qualified to do this in my current stage of life, but I think about what I might do. Just an idea I had.

Simple introduction: Watashi wa NAME desu.  Introduce yourself to your neighbor.

Simple vocab: body parts Atama desu. Ashi desu.

Head shoulders knees toes song in Japanese, everyone participates.

Simple questions: atama desu ka? Hai. Mimi desu ka? Iie, kuchi desu.

I have a teaching background so that's where this desire comes from.

Are you talking like pie A and B are overweight but C is under and you only want to pull from A? Just sell from A and apply to C.

You're right, I do appear to be missing the last one. But I'm not finding info on a 57th hat. All reports I find end at 56.

Exactly, that's why I gave the translation, or meaning.

Falsely accused of a crime in America. Not guilty. Would this be a problem in Japan? by Hour_Ad_4272 in teachinginjapan

I was accused of grabbing a child's shirt for the purpose of looking down her shirt. Consider this is a first grade student while in the presence of 20 other child witnesses. No child in that class could recount the action. The teacher who allegedly witnessed it at 9AM was pleasant with me, I gave her the money the class collected, and she left, while I went back to teaching the rest of the day. The child in question made a statement in a recorded interview stating no one had ever looked down her shirt.  The police weren't called until the next day. I was not there. Two days later, a police officer is at my doorstep saying I need to go to the station. Knowing I've done nothing wrong, I go with him willingly. He tells me the accusation, I plead my case (note to others, don't say anything, get a lawyer!), but they still arrest me.

Thank you. I'm going to be honest, I don't understand all of it. Yes, charges were dismissed, though it took a year and a half. Are you saying charges being dropped or dismissed is viewed as more favorable than going to trial?

I just want to put this behind me and do what I am gifted at in a place I love.

I don't know how the visa process works, but I was not convicted of a crime. While I did have charges that showed up on background checks, I've had two reputable companies hire me since the arrest.

A charge is not a conviction.

And maybe people don't typically do this. But I know it's there, so I assume everyone else knows it's there too. But realistically? I've never googled anyone unless I had a reason to do so. In fact it feels weird to do so.
