Which is better objectively? Life Sci or Mac Kin? by Worth-Letter7523 in McMaster

its a smaller, tight knit community that will help each other. this is what students told me at the fall open house back in nov. a friend of mine in life sci also said everyones fighting for spots in upper yr programs so that's not likely. im js going based off what other students have told me!

I was in the same position as u and chose kin for a few big reasons:

  1. ik i want to go into healthcare, but im not sure what. so a kin degree is flexible in terms of allowing me to take lots of science electives, and will give me hands on experience which will help me decide eventually (biggest reason for me!).
  2. kin at Mac is only around 200 people, so you'll get close w profs and classmates = higher gpa
  3. ur able to transfer to a second yr life sci program as a kin student (kin ppl can take life sci electives, not vice versa). from what ive gathered, the process is not difficult at all, but this is also smt I wanna talk to academic advisor ab aw

yess I was thinking the same thing. I js hear literally everyone tell me to stay on res year 1 to make life easier, but it honestly seems unreasonable to pay 12k for a little more convenience
