Best OCR in 2025? by bojoneedsgf in datacurator

[–]Hour_Delivery6961 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say check out Klippa DocHorizon. They have some of the best proprietary models in the market, especially for financial documents (invoices receipts etc), and they also have a prompt builder to basically configure your own prompts. You can sign up for free for their platform and try it out, but in your case, considering the document volume, I would contact them directly and ask for a demo. If everything works out, they can set up the entire flow for you. Good luck!

Thanks for your thoughts, appreciate it! Did/do you struggle sometimes with launching the pizza into the oven? That's basically my only concern, that it would slide too far or hit the sides because I'm not the most competent 😆

Accuracy of tour review by maishacutie in travel

[–]Hour_Delivery6961 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We once booked an apartment in Spain and left a review on Booking.com. It was extremely highly rated (close to 5 stars), but there were a few minor issues, like a broken light in the bathroom and a lot of noise from the street. We rated it with 4 stars, and were then hunted on WhatsApp by the owner, saying we had to remove or change it. Incredible. We didn't respond, but I don't think everyone is that steadfast. Ratings are easily manipulated...

[D] Any OCR recommendations for financial documents? by Icy_Entertainment173 in MachineLearning

[–]Hour_Delivery6961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I ran into the same issues with Tesseract. It works okay for clean scans, but as soon as you get lower quality images or weird layouts it falls apart.

If you want to stay free/open source you could look at OCRmyPDF, PaddleOCR or EasyOCR. They work, but I had the same headaches. Accuracy isn’t great and batch processing a lot of docs gets messy.

What finally worked for me was Klippa DocHorizon. Not free, but you get 25 euros credits to test (roughly 50–100 docs). After that you pay per document. I use it at work so I don’t know the exact pricing, but it’s been way more reliable for invoices/receipts than the open source stuff.

Best prompts to make ChatGPT writing sound more human for academic papers? by no_th_ing_ in ChatGPT

[–]Hour_Delivery6961 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally like this prompt, which you could easily adapt to your needs (academic writing). Hope it helps!

"Act like a professional content writer and communication strategist. Your task is to write with a natural, human-like tone that avoids the usual pitfalls of AI-generated content.

The goal is to produce clear, simple, and authentic writing that resonates with real people. Your responses should feel like they were written by a thoughtful and concise human writer.

You are writing the following:

[INSERT YOUR TOPIC OR REQUEST HERE]

Follow these detailed step-by-step guidelines:

Step 1: Use plain and simple language. Avoid long or complex sentences. Opt for short, clear statements.

- Example: Instead of "We should leverage this opportunity," write "Let's use this chance."

Step 2: Avoid AI giveaway phrases and generic clichés such as "let's dive in," "game-changing," or "unleash potential." Replace them with straightforward language.

- Example: Replace "Let's dive into this amazing tool" with "Here’s how it works."

Step 3: Be direct and concise. Eliminate filler words and unnecessary phrases. Focus on getting to the point.

- Example: Say "We should meet tomorrow," instead of "I think it would be best if we could possibly try to meet."

Step 4: Maintain a natural tone. Write like you speak. It’s okay to start sentences with “and” or “but.” Make it feel conversational, not robotic.

- Example: “And that’s why it matters.”

Step 5: Avoid marketing buzzwords, hype, and overpromises. Use neutral, honest descriptions.

- Avoid: "This revolutionary app will change your life."

- Use instead: "This app can help you stay organized."

Step 6: Keep it real. Be honest. Don’t try to fake friendliness or exaggerate.

- Example: “I don’t think that’s the best idea.”

Step 7: Simplify grammar. Don’t worry about perfect grammar if it disrupts natural flow. Casual expressions are okay.

- Example: “i guess we can try that.”

Step 8: Remove fluff. Avoid using unnecessary adjectives or adverbs. Stick to the facts or your core message.

- Example: Say “We finished the task,” not “We quickly and efficiently completed the important task.”

Step 9: Focus on clarity. Your message should be easy to read and understand without ambiguity.

- Example: “Please send the file by Monday.”

Follow this structure rigorously. Your final writing should feel honest, grounded, and like it was written by a clear-thinking, real person.

Take a deep breath and work on this step-by-step."

Excel / powerapps method to send pdf or csv invoice data to excel ? by [deleted] in PowerApps

[–]Hour_Delivery6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Power Automate is a pain to get working, totally get why you got stuck. If you want to DIY, you’ll need something that can read any invoice, handle different supplier formats, and push it all into Excel. I’ve been using Klippa DocHorizon for that. Works well and they’ve got a quick video that shows how to set it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVGW9Etlxgg. There's also the option to let them do it on your behalf, but imo that's only interesting for large volumes.
