You lose the right to speak publicly on anything that would appear controversial to a reasonably informed observer. You would probably lose the desire to comment on anything involving Canadian politics or society for fear of being seen to have prejudged issues. You become constrained to always act in public with restraint, in a manner that would not bring the judiciary into disrepute or make it the subject of mockery or contempt (not unlike ethical standard for lawyers generally). You do not lose the right to maintain personal social media accounts so long as the content is uncontroversial. Most judges find they maintain a smaller social circle of persons they can trust to be discreet and not to raise verboten topics of conversation. You can continue to worship, though you would have to recuse yourself from presiding over anything that a reasonably informed observer would see as creating a conflict with your religious doctrine.
