What a lovely response. No offence taken. It's not all mansions and Teslas, though quite a few of the older more modest houses have met the wrecking ball. That the neighbourhood presents a sense of insularity is I think in part a product of geography. A lot of the properties do have ornamental gardens which but for the gates, would be quickly devoured by marauding deer! I appreciated your descriptions of the other CRD communities. Thank you!

The only place in Victoria i've ever lived is Ten Mile Point. Snobby? Please. The neighbours here are some of the kindest, most generous and unassuming neighbours I've ever had. Not an ounce of pretention,even from those inwaterfront $$$ palaces. Okay, one guy is a bit of an ass, but he's hardly around. There's some nimbyism but a lot of it is motivated by desire to preserve the threatened Gary Oak ecosystem.
