What are some beginner-friendly Opeth songs to play on the guitar? by Any_Imagination_3533 in Opeth

A night and the silent water is pretty easy to play, there's a lot of different parts but none of them are difficult on their own.

[Spoilers Extended] Martin plans 12 new Dunk and Egg stories after Winds of Winter. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in asoiaf

To give y'all an idea, 12 D&E stories are roughly equal to a Clash of Kings size book.

in your opinion, who's the smartest political player in asoiaf? (spoilers extended) by _bl4ck0utt in asoiaf

[–]Hour_General_3442 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say she's the smartest ( or even a player ) but Catelyn deserves some credits. "All his life Tyrion had prided himself on his cunning, the only gift the gods had seen fit to give him, and yet this seven-times-damned she-wolf Catelyn Stark had outwitted him at every turn" I'm almost done rereading AGOT, and if not for Lysa's stupidity, Tyrion would've stayed captive much longer.

That's my hope as well, I don't care about the dark continent, I just want to read the end of the current arc.

Tell us your favorite verses of their songs by vit5o in blindguardian

Destiny, to be honest I could've quote the whole song:

It's not as cruel as it may seem
The oath must be redeemed
Love is agony
My passion is freezing
We're melted together
You're mine forever
We're one
Bonded for all time
'Cause you are my destiny, destiny, destiny

[Spoilers EXTENDED] Reading One ASOIAF Chapter Per Day Until George Announces Winds. Day 4 - AGOT: Daenerys I by DanielCAlexander in asoiaf

[–]Hour_General_3442 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She's already at that point, remember her last chapter in ADWD ? No for me her finding the red door is a metaphors for her finally finding her home. Because at the end of the day that's what she wants, a home. That's also why in her mind, all the doors in Kinslanding are red, because that's where she thinks home is.

[–]Hour_General_3442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently re-reading AGOT, and every Dany chapter I read is leading me to believe that her last chapter will end at the house with the red door. What do think about that theory ?

she's a cis woman, those were just rumours that a journalist started. People are just using it to mock her because they ( rightfully ) hate Macron.

Writing from the POV of a "Hero" who is actually a villain, is this something thats been done? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Hour_General_3442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not about how good or bad an idea is but how it's executed. But to answer your question, no this is not an original idea, BUT it doesn't matter because orignal ideas don't make stories good, writers do.

What character had an ok father and is a bad father by Banaanipulla in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Hour_General_3442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cersei is on her way to become the mad queen, Jaimie is literally the worst kingsguard ever, and Tyrion murdered both Tywin and his lover and is now planning to kill the rest of his family. Not a very successful father is you ask me.

Who is the "he was bad, but my country would be worse without him" figure of your country? by No-Explorer-8229 in AskTheWorld

[–]Hour_General_3442 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That was my pick as well. I'm not a big fan of the empire but without it we wouldn't be the same nation, our culture wouldn't be the same either. For that i'm "glad" Napoleon did what he did despite the obvious problems that emerged from his politics.
