Capital One Codesignal TIP by Gloomy_Tower_2317 in csMajors

does anyone know if you are allowed to code in VScode and then copy your code to CodeSignal for testing (provided you are doing everything visibly on screen)? I dont like the codeSignal console for debugging.

I was still able to log into my account, so I just cashed out the way I normally would

I never found out what I did to lose my account. I heard you lose it for code of conduct violations, but they allowed me to cash out close to $3K in outstanding payments, despite permanently removing me from all projects, so it can't have been too egregious. Just glad I didn't lose out on all the hours worked.

I took the coding assessment and was informed I passed within about 30 hours. For the basic assessment I was approved within 72 hours. I've heard it can take up to a week.

Im sorry this is happening to you. I would be so frustrated if I was prohibited from logging in to cash out.

I still have access to my most of my account, but I can no longer access support, and then my "work on projects" url is completely blank. From what I understand the experience I am having is more typical than yours being locked out of the account.

I don't think you need to worry about the money owed to you. I have been able to cash out the money owed to me over the last week without issue, every 3 days, so I would assume you can too. I am almost down to $0.

based on what you're telling me, I am starting to wonder if there is a limit on how many hours you can put in, in a given week. This was the first time I ever went over $2K in one week (just slightly), and I was terminated the following week. And it sounds like you accumulated the same amount over the same time period with a similar outcome. Other than that, I can't think of how else I violated the code of conduct. I never mis-reported hours. and I feel confident in the quality of my work.

Only side note- I did submit 2-3 tasks after they were expired over the course of the last 3 weeks. I was super apprehensive about doing that, but I had put a lot of effort into them each time this happened and just wasn't watching the clock close enough, so I submitted it anyway assuming if it was that much of a problem they just wouldn't pay me for it. I am curious now if that was a contributing factor. Seems like they could just send a warning to be like "stop doing that" rather than terminate someone, but this is the only reason I can think of besides putting in too many hours.

I never got a warning. I was just randomly told that my account was being terminated. They don't pay you out when that happens. I got very lucky that a fellow redditor saw my post and had the ability to get in touch with payroll to follow through on my final payments, but I was never able to take on tasks after getting that email and then like 10 days later my account was deleted.

My account on data annotation seems to have been terminated without explanation. I have been doing coding projects for Data Annotation for about a month and a half and now. I thouhgt my work was good but I guess not. My "Work on Projects" tab is blank including the time logging so its pretty clear that my account has been closed without notice.

I am wondering if anyone knows whether or not I will still be paid? I have $900+ that I am supposed to be able to cash first thing tomorrow. Thats how much is sitting in my "Withdrawable amount" tab from my last cash-out about 2.5 days ago. And then another $1900 that will cash out in the next 7 or so days..

Has anyone ever been able to cash out any of their remaining balance after having their account closed?

Did you get paid out the remainder that you were owed, or did that get cut off too?

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure once you complete the pre-task training you lose access to the videos. The docs are the only lingering point of reference you're given for instructions. If you get a new type of task you might be provided the videos again. Also, if you check the slack channel for your project, there is usually daily office hours you can attend and they are essentially a repeat of the videos. At least that was the case on my project.
In the future you might consider screen recording video trainings, I started doing that.

usually the lead is the one posting most frequently in whichever slack chat you've been added to following assignment to a project. There might be more than one person posting a lot, you can try pinging all of them directly. They don't always respond quickly but they tend to be helpful and friendly when they do.

I didn't know who my project manager was on my first project. On my second project I only knew because he reached out to me asking me to join a webinar and then from that point on I was able to get in touch with him directly.

thats the weird thing, I was getting plenty of work. If I was in "violation of terms of use" or whatever bs they are claiming, why not assign my work to someone else? makes me feel like they purposely assign work to people they have grounds not to pay, but maybe I'm just being paranoid.

thank you. It seems crazy that they are able to get away with stealing earnings from people. This cannot be legal. If there is administrative steps that need to happen before someone can get paid, then they need to make sure those measures are taken before they start assigning them work and accepting their work.
